Custom Challenge stopped updating

The custom challenge stopped updating two days ago.  How can we fix it?  Is this across the board or just mine?

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing that the Custom challenge stopped updating. Thank you for your efforts to resolve this. In order to investigate further, I recommend you to force quit the app, reopen the Fitbit app and make sure your device is syncing

Everything else updates, just not the Custom Challenge.

Challenges are what makes life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.

Everything updates except the Custom Challenge.  I quit the app multiple times a day and it hasn’t updated for multiple days, but I’ll try again.

 

Tried again and still not working.

How do you create a custom challange, I can't seem to find it?

@JobvanTuijl I am glad to assist you with your question about a Custom Challenge. If you have Fitbit Premium, you have the option to create a Custom Challenge. Fitbit Premium users can invite friends without Fitbit Premium to compete in a Custom Challenge. For more information, please see this help article: What should I know about Fitbit Premium?

Morning everyone, - would be very keen to find out if this has been resolved or still a work in progress. 

 

Myself and a friend did a custom challange over a month (yes a big one 🙂 and in the last 3 to 4 days the challange just stopped updating even though the sync was successful.

I understand your concern and recommend checking if your app is updated to the latest version. Fitbit regularly provides new versions of the Fitbit app as these updates provide bug fixes and improvements. In order to update your app you can follow the steps provided here

Yes the apps at the latest version.

Running under android 9 on a Nokia 7 plus.

A friend I was doing the challenge with noticed the same they are on iPhone - XR I think but also latest app version

Mine never updated after the first two weeks and I had a 30 day challenge going. In fact, I just looked and it’s no longer even showing on my app. It was the only reason for me to sign up for Premium and I don’t think it was worth it at this point.

Challenges are what makes life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.

With luck this will be resolved, as happy to stay premium at the moment. 

Would love to see the custom challanges improved and maybe even allow custom maps as trying to do the distance that matches a real life walk i hope to do one day 🙂

@lyallbaynz thank you for confirming that the apps are at the latest version, I appreciate the additional details. Have you tried to start a new challenge and see if it is syncing? I am glad to hear you're using Fitbit Premium and appreciate your feedback and suggestion. Feel free to post your idea in our Feature Suggestions board. That way other users can comment and vote on the idea to show their support.

This was never resolved.  It’s rather frustrating to start a large group and have it crash after the first few weeks!

Good morning.  I started a month long challenge with my boss for this month.  Yesterday we noticed that it was no longer syncing.  We both logged out if the app logged back in and shut our devices off.  it’s still not sycing.  I should be running the latest version of the app as nothing is showing that there is a new version available.

I have also had the same issue as listed above. Once again this is a 29 day challenge to run for the whole of February. There are around 16 people in the challenge and it says that it was last updated 22 hours ago when I have tried updating and force closing the app.


Also on a separate note, I realised that once the custom challenge has been created and the people selected it is not possible to add additional people even before the challenge starts. This means it’s not possible to fill the challenge in the event people have declined the request.

 

I am currently running the app using a IPhone 11 Pro Max with version 3.14.

 

All other challenges are working correctly and the steps and calories are updating as normal.

 

I also have tried looking for the challenges on the Fitbit website but it appears ongoing challenges are not currently visible on the dashboard. Adding this feature to the dashboard would enable people to view their challenges on devices that do not have the app currently installed or are having issues with the app.

Yes it is. I canceled my premium account. It’s not worth it if I can’t do the custom challenge.

This is the second time a month-long Custom Challenge has stopped syncing! I did one in January that stopped syncing maybe 5-7 days before it was supposed to end. And now my February challenge stopped syncing roughly 3 days ago. 

Everyone in the challenge has experienced this. 

These are Premium challenges that people are paying for and it’s embarrassing that they don’t work properly. 

I guess I’ll have to do two week challenges and see if that fairs any better.

Quite honestly, these challenges should never have made it out of the door in their current state, let alone be part of premium. Buggy, lacking basic features (like chat and rematch) they just doesn't cut it. I know the Bingo game is still in trial form, so we can overlook that for now, but the custom challenge is now part of the premium offering and we can't even complete the game 🤦🏽‍:male_sign:
