Do I need internet connection when doing a run training?

Why have a Run Training programme that cant be used outdoors?! I’ve only just started the training and whilst about to turn it on outdoors it informed me that I needed an internet connection in order for it to work - which caused me an issue as I’ve no way of knowing what I was meant to do in terms of the run cycle...

In todays technological era this does seem like a rather outdated issue to have! I can play the free Couch to 5K app outdoors using 4G, but not the Fitbit run training? 

Why?!

I appreciate the details mentioned. If the workout suggested by the Run training is from Fitbit Coach, it will download to your phone before it starts playing then there's no need to have internet connection unless you want to change the music. 

If the workout is from the Fitbit Premium videos, these will need internet connection. If you would like that these videos could be played without internet connection please post your idea in our Feature Suggestion board, those are reviewed by our team and the status will change depending on Fitbit plans. Also, users have the opportunity to vote and comment on them.
