Does Coach provide the same Food Macro Tracking?

Attached are images to clarify (okay never mind, took photos, tried to attach but the ability to attach is not working, what is up with this website, does anything work?) ugh.

I just got my Fitbit a few weeks ago and started logging food on the app on computer. At the top of the log, it has allowed me to click on "Reports" from the food log page and see my macro breakdown which was great. There was a message that said Macro Tracking was free for a week then I'd need to buy Premium $49.99 to continue the use. Today, I clicked on "Buy Premium" to pay for it. This linked me to Fitbit Coach with the price of $39.99.

I don't see anywhere listed under the benefits that it includes Macro Tracking. I used the Fitbit "Chat" to verify it was included and the guy said I'd get an email as there was no chat service to help with that info. I called as I'm busy and want to get this going and over with. That Fitbit rep put me on hold and seemed very confused. When he finally came back, he said Fitbit has discontinued macro tracking as they feel the exercise is more important.

What? Seriously? Why was it working yesterday for free and now I can't even buy it. Is this typical operations for Fitbit? Is that even true? So frustrated right now.

Regarding your inquiry, no, Fitbit Coach doesn't have this option. If you log food in the Fitbit app, you'll see an estimate of your daily macronutrients breakdown (total carbohydrates, fat, and protein consumed) in addition to your caloric intake. Tracking your macronutrients can help you get a better view of your overall nutrition.

After you log food, your macronutrients breakdown will appear. To see your macronutrients, complete these steps:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the food tile (which shows your calories in vs calories remaining if you created a food plan).
  2. Under Today, find your daily macronutrients breakdown as compared to your cals in vs cals out.
  3. Swipe the graph at the top to see your macronutrients breakdown over the past week.
  4. Tap the expand icon in the top right to open information about your macronutrients and then tap any particular day to see details. Tap the icon again to close.

Note that you won't see your macronutrients breakdown if you use the option to log calories instead of food.

Excellent question as that is what I was looking for.  I don't like the answer though since I would love to be able to download my macros so that I have a log.  I don't need the coach app since I have a trainer. Rather disappointed with FitBit about this.  Ah well, I may have to spend my money on My Fitness Pal or something to get the reports.  Excellent app, if it did what it promised.
