Fitbit Premium Checkout is filling in the Wrong Gmail Account for Google Pay

I am trying to sign up for the Fitbit premium six month trial through the Fitbit Android app on my Galaxy S20 phone.

My kids use my credit card number for google pay on their phones.

When I click on the line where it shows Google Pay with the last digits of my credit card then it shows my credit card, but it shows my son's gmail address, not my address which is the one I use for the login on my phone, for the Google Play store and also is the one that I use for my Fitbit login.

How do I change to my email address?

I tried selecting to add my card but it still uses my son's email address and wants me to enter his Gmail password.

My son's email address comes alphabetically before mine in the Accounts section of the Android settings so maybe that is why it is picking it up.

There are quite a few email addresses in teh lsit before theone that I need to use so I do not want to delete them temporarily.

I also had this problem with my new Fitbit charge 5 and Pixel 5 phone and managed to solve without removing my other google account, so posting my steps in case it helps anyone else. These steps are specific to my phone, but hopefully others can translate to their own device.

Like others I have two google accounts on my phone and the app kept picking the wrong one when I tried to activate my Premium trial.

I assumed I'd accidentally installed the app while using the wrong account in Google Play app, so I uninstalled the Fitbit app, went back to Google Play store, made sure I was using the correct account and re-installed. This did NOT work.

I then tried two things simultaneously so I'm not 100% sure which resolved the issue:

  1. On phone went into Settings > Apps > Fitbit > Storage & cache and cleared storage to make sure there were no left over files that kept re-tying the app to the wrong account. Then I went back a screen to the Fitbit app page and Uninstalled the app from there.
  2. On a computer browser, I logged into my correct google account and went to the Play store (https://play.google.com/store). I then searched for the Fitbit app there and installed the app to my phone from there. (Click Install and selected my phone as the device to install to.)

Once the Fitbit app re-installed on my phone, I logged back in with my Fitbit account, hit the Premium sign-up and voila - it was using the correct google account!

I have the same problem. I have tried the suggestions mentioned in this forum and nothing has worked.
