Received this by email on the 1/31/24.
Dear Premium member,
We are making some changes to streamline the renewal process for Fitbit Premium memberships. Your next renewal will need to be managed in the Fitbit mobile app. Auto-renewals of your current membership purchased on fitbit.com will stop effective February 29th, 2024.
Your current membership is active until the expiration date listed below which includes an additional 30 days at no charge. At that time, if you do not re-activate your membership in the Fitbit mobile app, you will no longer have access to Premium features and will automatically be switched to our basic service.
You will receive a follow-up email at that time with additional information on how to re-activate.
Expiration Date: 09/29/2024
Thank you for being a part of Fitbit. We’re excited to continue our journey together, supporting your health and fitness in new and innovative ways.

Got the same email and wondered if it was genuine. I would like to know the answer too since I'm going to have to walk my mom through it.

I received the except my expiration date is 10/24/2024. I guess with the paragraph noted in the email it will run an additional 30 days to 11/24/2024 but . . .
I am not happy that Google bought Fitbit. Google does not have a good reputation and history with consistency, maintaining the quality of other companies they buy up, often 'kills' products that they decide don't make suficient $'s to appease the stock holders, and want to track, share your information with 3rd parties, are not always truthful and transparant with their customers, etc. I have been trying only to sign in to fitbit.com and not into google - difficult to do and now with this policy, they will be able to forceus to sign in to google and abide by google policies. I do not use Facebook, X, SnapChat, etc. I try to run strict policies on my browsers and limit apps on my smart phone, run a Pi-hole to block ads here at my residence, etc. Is Google trying to get us to renew our premium memberships now to get a cash injection from Fitbit premium subscribers or are they just trying to force us into 'full Google mode'? I like Fitbit - it helps me shed 75 pounds (along with exercise - generally doing 10,000 steps most days of the week and doing a modified South Beach/Mediterian diet). I may try to go it alone without Premium support and Fitbit updates unless I can stay 'Google free'. Google appears to be trying to instigate a non-cookie and supposely non-identifying the individual Chrome browser method for supplying ads according to categories of past interest shown. Don't know if I trust Google for the above mentioned reasons. 😞

I wonder if we are going to have to let it expire and then re-activate. I don't know
