Fitbit Premium with new Device BUT charged

Hey, so I bought a new Fitbit Charge 5 and wanted to activate the six months premium trial it came with, which the app seemed to offer, but even though I clicked on the “pay monthly after six months” I was immediately charged. Any tips out there what to do? Cancel after this month and try again? Will the trial work if I have already registered the device? Return the device and get a new one?
