Fitbit Premium

I purchased a Charge 5 Fitbit for my mother last year as a Christmas gift. I signed her up for Fitbit premium forgetting that I linked it to my credit card and email address. My mother is a retired and doesn't participate in many activities, she mainly does things around the house and goes out for errands. Her Fitbit broke within 2-3 months of use, she didn't shower with it or swim with it. It was replaced free of cost, fast forward a few more months it broke again for no logical reason. Finally, I purchase an Apple Watch for her in October 2022. We have had no issues with the Apple Watch. I stand by that product I purchased an Apple Watch for my brother in 2017, to this day it still works without issues. On December 18th, I was charged $79.99 for an annual subscription. I immediately reached out to Fitbit to request a refund as the product is no longer in use, and I didn't receive a notice of the upcoming renewal. Fitbit declined my refund request, stating their premium service subscriptions are non-refundable. I write this to warn other users to possibly pay the extra fee for an Apple Watch, or make sure you monitor your subscriptions with Fitbit. This company does not forwardly outline that their subscriptions are non-refundable. This is not a company I will support in the future, as this policy takes advantage of consumers. With the rising inflation and cost of goods, not many people can afford to flush money down the drain on subscriptions that are not used. The fact that Fitbit uncompassionately responds with their non-refundable policy, says all I need to know about the ethics and morals of this company.
