I have fitbit premium, covered by my health insurance. Will this continue?
Best AnswerI had that exact question after my friend’s husband sent me link to article https://www.wired.com/story/google-is-rebranding-the-fitbit-app-to-google-health/ this morning.
this was the first I’d heard about the rebranding.
i had a chat online with insurance company and she said nothing has been finalized yet and that I should check closer to the rebranding date. Keeping my fingers crossed that they continue to pay for premium. If they don’t I may look into changing my plan if I can pass underwriting!
@Js2222 Google just announced this yesterday, so it's new to all of us.

Best Answertrue, but I expected that Google should know whether or not they will extend their offer for free premium thru the various insurances that currently provide free Fitbit premium.
I was chatting with the AI Coach on Fitbit and asked if the rollout was going to be gradual or if everyone would get it at once. I was told that since I am on the public preview, I would be closer to the top of the list! Usually in a rollout I am among the last to get it, so that made me happy!
@Js2222 A perk like this originates from and is paid for by the insurance company. I honestly don't think that Google keeps track of insurance company perks.
@leshil2031 This is a rebranding from Fitbit Premium to Google Heath Premium. I absolutely agree with the advice to chat with your insurance company. Your insurance might think it is a new, different product.
