Is it possible to try premium through website or Windows 10 app?

I don't have Google Play on my phone, so pressing the "free trial" button in the app obviously does not work. (I doubt running without play services is supported at all, it crashes frequently, but works well enough to sync my data) I also run the Windows 10 app, but have not found any way to start the Premium trial there.

Today I got an email prompting me about the free trial, so I clicked on the "Start free trial" link, which brought me to the website. From there I could only see a "shop now" button which only allows me to buy a yearly subscription. No trace of anything trial related, as mentioned in the email.

Is there any way to start the trial from the website or windows app? It's incredibly weird to send an email to start a free trial, without an obvious way to do so via the link in the email.

I think the OP was requesting information about the official FitBit Windows 10 app. If I'm reading your response correctly, you are giving information that only applies to users who use the iPhone and Android apps. For the OP, I made the mistake of purchasing a premium subscription without a trial (as you said, there's no trial for Windows 10 users), only to find out that it is not possible, with the Windows 10 app, to USE the subscription.

FitBit, I understand that it's difficult to keep so many applications up-to-date for us. (I really appreciate your support for Windows 10!). However, please provide accurate compatibility information, so we can make good decisions, regardless of the platform we use. Clear communication will save your company money in customer service and refund requests -- and lead to much happier customers.

@fliebel It's nice to see you on the Community. Sorry for the delayed reply.

I'll be happy to clarify your inquiry about Premium on the website or the Windows 10 app on your computer.

Currently Premium Membership is available for iOS, Android and Windows phone. You could buy it from the website but you won't be able to see it on the Windows 10 app or on the website.

Your feedback and comments are appreciated, we're always striving on improving our services offered. I noticed that this idea has been posted on the Feature Suggestion board, please vote or comment to support it.

Sorry, this makes very little sense. Fitbit sent me an email that has a button that literally says "start free trial", but clicking the button does not allow you to start the free trial. As you say, all you can do is buy a yearly membership through the website.

@fliebel Thanks for getting back.

When you start a free trial, you will need to enter a valid payment method. If you decide not to purchase Fitbit Premium, you could cancel it on day 7 because on the 8, you will be charged.

  1. If Fitbit Premium is available in your region, you'll see a Premium tab in the Fitbit app. Tap the Premium tab.
  2. Read the overview, and tap the button to get started.
  3. Choose a 1-year or monthly subscription to start after your free trial, and follow the instructions to purchase.

*Valid payment method required. Cancel before your free trial ends to avoid subscription charges. Offer valid for new Fitbit Premium users only.

In addition, I learned that it is FitBit's policy to refuse a refund in this circumstance, even though the Premium marketing materials do not specify that the product is only available for iPhone and Android.

Fellow FitBit users, please do not purchase Premium if you use Windows 10.

FitBit, I understand that it must be difficult to create fair refund policies. However, I'm sure you can agree that charging customers for a service they cannot access is an unfair business practice. Ultimately, it will damage the company's reputation and result in a loss of income as well as unhappy customers.

Dear Fitbit -

I tried some classes on Premium on my phone and the are great.  I would consider extending it past the trial, but I simply cannot see the classes well enough to follow them.  The phone screen is just too small when you move away from it for kick boxing.  I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY WE CANT ACCESS THE CLASSES VIA WINDOWS 10. Thanks.

I just started the 3 month free trial for premium today, so that I can try some of the workout  videos.  Seriously, can you not watch the videos on the  internet (laptop, iPad or smart tv)? Only on the phone? What good does that do anybody?  I'm hoping there is a "fix"  for this and I'll be able to watch the workouts on a larger screen, otherwise I see no point in even continuing the free trial.  Please confirm-  thanks very much.

I run Fitbit from my iPhone but do not own "Apple TV" so I can't stream it to my TV. I would never pay that much for this service without being able to access it from other devices / laptop. Hope there is a fix for this shortly.

@SilviaFitbit     Is premium still nit accessible with windows 10 using a browser. I would like to try the free trial but if not able to use on windows 10 and a browser it is a waste of time. Every time I click the premium link I get invalid page

Thanks

I have a 10 inch Samsung tablet that I watch the premium workout videos on and it works just like the phone.  It may depend on how up to date it is because I got this tablet recently.  My 12.2 inch android tablet will not play the videos, or at least I have not figured a way to get it to.

Right, you can’t watch videos on the tv with Kindle Fire- no app for that yet. I’m not going to pay to follow exercises on a little laptop screen, so the three free months is a total waste for me, can’t use it. I tried it, it’s too hard to see while exercising. If FitBit ever gets the app going for watching on Apple TV or Firestick, I’d be happy to give it another try. Too bad. Thanks for trying though.

The fitbit coach website does not appear to be the same as Fitbit premium.  I cannot find even a fifth of the videos on the coach website as I can on premium in the Fitbit app.  Is this what you are finding as well?  I'm so confused!  I'm doing the 90-day trial and not sure it's worth it if I can't watch the videos on a screen bigger than my phone.

Hi SilbiaFitbit! When will it be available on the PC? It's hard to see on the phone and my phone won't stay up.
