My Daily Readiness Score Needs to be recalibrated

Is there a way to recalibrate my daily readiness score (which is showing 99-100 every single day which is impossible for someone in my condition, taking into account also my sleep data and activity levels, and a CRAZY WRONG HRV score every day even using the RMSSD calculation metrics; my EDA at least comes up with a number that wouldn't signify that I was a corpse).

The only setting option I can find is to delete all the data, which doesn't make sense.  Is there a way to start over to calibrate it again so it would be more realistic?  It wasn't always this way; the same day it went wonky (ex. thinking 135 active minutes it considered "light activity" when that is a hellish day for me and required a lot of extra sleep (High) and gave me a "99" for a score, and that was on 2//8/22 - also the last day many of us, myself included, received a stress management score.  Everything since has been 99 or 100.

I'm disabled and need to figure out how to reset this without deleting the data from before then, which made much more sense.  I know it takes 14 days to calibrate a score but how can you make it do that?  Not wear the watch for one night?  four nights?  Please let me know.  Thank you.

did it already.  it is one of like... 3 or 4 tickets that have been opened for various reasons since the last update by me that i was told needed to get forwarded to a higher tier level of tech support for email follow-up and i haven't heard back on any of them yet despite bestarting told i should hear back within a couple days - starting weeks ago.

i hope the silence is due to working on an update for the app and/or a firmware update to coincide with it, considering i'm not alone in these issues and nobody should have to do a factory reset every single time there is an app update that screws up a bunch of stuff that wasn't broken before.

This link has multiple FAQs to describe how the daily readiness score is generatered (https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2470.htm#). The last FAQ: "How do I delete daily readiness scores?" details how to remove the scores.

Less invasive:

  • Delete the scores that seem to exhibit inconsistent data to your experience.

More extreme approach:

  • Delete 2 weeks (15 days to be safe) worth of readiness scores.
  • Unpair the fitbit (delete from the smartphone's Bluetooth settings)
  • Reset the fitbit (from the fitbit menu system)
  • Re-Pair fitbit to device via the app.

The above are just suggestions - not necessarily a fix.

If you do take the more extreme route it should take 4 days to regenerate a score. If it took less, then my guess it is pulling data somewhere else from the platform's backend which may require help from fitbit tech support.

Keep us posted and share what ended up working. Additionally, it may self correct over few days; depending on the age of the conflicting information influencing the score.

Take care

4 days to regenerate but 14 days to calibrate?

Meanwhile I can only see 7 days of 100 and not scroll backward.  I think I will try to split the baby and delete 14 days of scores without resetting and unpairing etc.  Having to recalibrate EVERYTHING, even my stride length and sleep etc., is hell on wheels.  I'll see if that works and check back in.

So I deleted 14 days of readiness scores and actually had to take the extreme approach due to an issue a bunch of us are having with stress management scores.  It gave me all these messages about how it needed to set up and I had to approve it and it was looking real good.

Woke up this morning with a 100 readiness score. It also says "Score is fully tuned".

WTF?!

Somewhere data is being factored.

- Did you factory reset (clear user data) the fitbit? Restart is not the same.

- I just did it to my fitbit and I wiped out my readiness score - we will see what tomorrow morning yields.

So I wiped my readiness score. Along with deleting the readiness score mentioned above, I also deleted my activity, HRV values and sleep data. (Under account (avatar) > account settings > delete data). All data was deleted was from 2/1 to 2/16.

So I had uninstalled the app, reinstalled it, didn't wear my Fitbit to sleep for 4 nights, deleted all my HRV data, EOV data, and Daily Readiness Data going back - just in case - to 11/26/2020 when I first got the watch, and aside from the full factory reset I rebooted the watch and phone, cleared cache, etc.  Had to approve all the T&C's again, etc.  I had a message on the DR score module on the app saying I needed to wear it for sleeping for 14 days to calibrate my score.

Woke up this morning with a Daily Readiness Score and it says my score is fully tuned and I have 0 days left needed to personalize it - and it hasn't even been 4.  My HRV bar shows up there as "average" but when I go into the Health Metrics section I see a couple of scores but no range has been established yet due to not having enough time being worn sleeping since the deletions, uninstall, reboot, etc. to establish a baseline.  Likewise it shows tripling my activity minutes yesterday from my baseline is "light", recent sleep is "high" despite the data should say low based on the parameters given (time asleep, bedtime, time awake, inconsistent sleep, sleep 'debt', etc.).

I had already force-stopped, cleared app cache, etc.  Since Stress Management Score is still having problems across the board for multiple people regardless of Fitbit, and my HRV scores are still coming in with impossible data even after the reset (except when I do an EDA - my EDA shows the comparison between the overnight score and the score during an EDA measurement and that value isn't the mathematical equivalent of '2+2=Chicken', I believe I'm not going to be able to fix this on my own.  Since nearly everything - minus the HRV issue - happened after my last app update on 2/7/22 (v. 3.54) I think I need to wait till they update the app again with bug fixes in order to fix a bunch of this stuff (and hopefully not create too many new bugs in the next one 🤞

Using my fitbit (charge 5) as a test device, the method outlined in my previous posts did successfully reset the readiness score. The score does seem accurate to my perspective/situation. It would appear, that not fully wiping the device allows for old data to be re-introduced and in-turn not yielding the desire result/outcome.

Have a good week 🙂
