Premium and Battery Drain?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just signed up for the 6 month free Premium for my Sense. It seems like I’m recharging every 3 days now where before I’d recharge every 4 - 5 days. Does Premium somehow result in a heavier battery drain?

Thanks

Thanks for getting back to us and for letting us know that your Sense battery drains faster since you signed up for Premium @TonyMan

This shouldn't be related. Please check: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life? Do you have snore detection feature active on your Sense? This could make your watch's battery drain faster.

Hopefully, that did it. I did notice that my battery was draining over 30% overnight. I'd actually like to get the trial off the device but cannot see how to do that. I've read the posts and done everything like stopping the subscription in the Apple App store. It now says it won't renew, but shows its active till June. Is there a way to totally get the free trial deleted?

What if snore detection was one of the main reasons for opting in to Premium?!? Same thing is happening with my Fitbit. 😩

Best Answer

Joe, that was the reason I signed up too. Once I turned off the snore detection things were back to normal. Looks like that function uses an extraordinary amount of resources.

Welcome  to the Fitbit Community, @Jo6672 and thanks for getting back to us and for your comments @TonyMan.

Snore detection feature impacts your device’s battery, so we recommend charging your device to at least 40% before going to bed.

Isn’t snore detection one of the bigger features/reasons for signing up for premium? Shouldn’t we know it’s going to kill our battery? Seems like a terrible design flaw to me.

I used to charge my Fitbit Sense every day. Since my Premium trial ended a few days ago, it’s barely using 10% battery every 24 hours now. Glad I read this thread, now I know it’s related for sure and that I’m not just losing my mind 🙂

I’ll definitely not be buying Premium now!

How do you turn off the Snore Report?

Best Answer

If you go on to your sleep score, then settings in the corner you can turn it off.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Jennymurph@Diprit. Thanks for sharing your snore report query.

To turn on or turn off snore and noise detection:

  1. From the Today tab

in the Fitbit app, tap the sleep tile

. You might have to swipe up to find it.
  2. Tap the gear icon.
  3. Tap the switch next to Detect Snoring. When you turn on snore and noise detection for the first time, follow the on-screen instructions.

Thank you for your assistance @Diprit.

I signed up on the 1st January 2023, and I noticed the exact same issue with my Sense.

I believe it is the enhanced Sleep analysis which is causing it.

I charge the Sense in the morning to 100%. By bedtime it is about 90%. After 8 hours in bed it is about 50%.

I don't think I will extend the Premium service after the 6-month trial, unless this issue is addressed.

This shouldn't be related. Please check that you have not enabled the snore detection or take into consideration that it drains your watch's battery faster.

Thank you Andrea. It must be the snore detection, although I'm surprised it uses that much battery life.
