My current Fitbit is four years old and starting not to work as well as I'd like. The display isn't as bright as it should be and I can no longer see the screen at all when I'm outdoors. I want to buy a Charge 5, but I have a dilemma with my Fitbit Premium account.
Yesterday I did a live chat with Lisbeth, who told me I could purchase the Charge 5, that my current premium membership that I paid for would continue until March of 2023, and that I could purchase the protection plan and 1 year of premium for $40 which would go into effect when the current membership ended.
With this information I decided to order, but I tried today and I can't. I received notification that because I have a current premium membership, I won't get the 6 months free, and I can't add on the discounted year of premium.
I went back to the live chat again. Maria informed me that the only way to get the 6 months free and the year of premium at a discounted rate would be to create a new account with a new email address. I have 8 years of Fitbit data on my account, I don't want to set up a new account.
Is there anyway that I can purchase now and still get the discounted premium rates as Lisbeth told me, or is Maria correct, that I need to wait until my membership expires in March?
I can see from my subscriptions that "If you cancel now, you can still access your subscription until March 15, 2023" If I cancel will I be able to order the Charge 5 with the discounted rate? Or with they overlap? I'm really hoping I don't need to limp along with my current device until March!
Thanks for any tips!
