Premium with 3 month free trial - cancellation

I signed up for a 3 month trial expecting that it would be a trial - i.e. I could give it a go and then pay for the year after the 3 month period had elapsed. Instead, the payment for a whole year has been taken from my account immediately and to add insult to injury, there appears to be no free trial at all! I have cancelled the subscription, but premium is still showing as paid up for a full year! It's so frustrating that I can't manage this through the app or through Apple. I would like to cancel the premium subscription and get a refund. 

This is what is written on my email acknowledgement, and as yet, I haven't used the premium option. 

 

"You have purchased Fitbit Premium Annual on 22 January 2022 and acknowledged that if you download or use this in-App Purchase within fourteen days of buying it, you will no longer be eligible to cancel this purchase.

Regards,

App Store"

 

Has anyone managed to get a refund in these circumstances. I'm not quite sure which way to go on this.
