Restart free trial Premium for replacement device

I bought a device 3 months ago that came with 6 months Premium free. I have just bought another device (don't judge me!) that has the same deal.

How do I claim the new 6 months free?  As per a similar question on here, I cancelled the existing subscription on Play, however it is giving me an end date of 6 months from the start - which under normal circumstances would be correct.

@KathyJM Premium memberships are on the account level, not the device level. So even though you are using a new device, you still get to keep your original Premium free trial. You'll have to wait for the original free trial to expire (three months from now, it sounds like) and then you can activate your free trial that came with your new device. There is no limit on when you can activate a Premium free trial on a device.
