Share Your Voice! Help Us Improve the Google Community Experience

Hi everyone,

We're reaching out from the Google User Experience Research team because your feedback is incredibly important as we work to enhance your community experience!

We're currently making improvements to Google’s online Communities to ensure they continue to be a valuable and supportive resource for you.

We're looking for active members of the Google Communities to participate in a user research study (June 23rd - June 30th). Your insights into what works well and what could be better in the community will directly inform these improvements.

What's involved? If selected, you'll participate in a 60-minute moderated online interview with a researcher. This is your chance to share your honest thoughts and help shape the future of these communities!

Who are we looking for? We're seeking individuals who have actively used the Google Fitbit or Google Nest Community forums to find support or troubleshoot issues.

Ready to participate? Please click the link below to fill out a short screener survey. This will help determine your eligibility for the study.

All your responses will be kept confidential, and your participation will directly contribute to making these communities even better for everyone.

Thank you for being such a valuable part of the Google Community!

Best regards,

The Google User Experience Research Team

@StefanieFitbit  I have questions about Premium rather than comments.

1. It's unclear to me what the added value is by subscribing to Premium; so a list of additional data that would be available and other features over and above not having Permium?

2. Would Premium help me better understand the Cardio Load and Readiness recommendations which pop up daily? It is a complete mystery how I would even attempt to follow those recommendations. For example, on days when I'm told to "take it easy", I have tried to just walk as a way to tone down my exercise. However, that doesn't do it. The next day I'm still told to take it easy. So, for now, I just ignore these and wish there was a way of turning off these notifications since they are uselss.

3. Nutrition - What additional nutritional tracking does Premium allow beside what is already available without it?

4. Any other useful features? Relaxation techniques? Meditation? I don't even know what could be worth the additional cost.

@grbmds   This Fitbit/Google page has all features side by side.  The added valueI mainly comes from the additional sleep data, workout videos, and meditations.  I hope it gives you the information you seek.  To answer your other questions:

  • Cardio load, cardio load target, and daily readiness are free to all users.  There is no additional information or added value for Premium users.  Here are two links to Fitbit Help articles: What are cardio load and target load? and What's my daily readiness score in the Fitbit app?  Fitbit/Google won't be happy with opinion on Cardio load.  I think it is a work in progress and users get inconsistent/contradictory recommendations.  I base my activity on my daily readiness score.  You can toggle the feature off so it isn't on your screen, but you can't turn off the recommendations.
  • The is no additional nutrition tracking.  You get access to the 1-2 minute recipe videos, but the recipes aren't in the app.  If a video is from Eating Well, you can find the recipe on their site.  Otherwise the videos are for inspiration only.
  • There are some workouts and meditations free to all users.  Premium users get access to more workouts and meditations.

"Training Target: Your target load is tailored to the fitness target you have set in the Fitbit app to maintain or improve fitness. Selecting “maintain cardio fitness” adjusts your target cardio load to be in line with your average cardio load over the last 4 weeks. Selecting “improve cardio fitness” adjusts your target cardio load to be slightly more than your daily average over the last 4 weeks."  I don't see a setting for Fitness Target and, thus, no place to select "maintain or improve cardio fitness". This might be useful but it just doesn't appear to be available. I assume it's an app based selection as I've alternately installed my Fitbit Sense2 and my older Versa2. Neither gives me access to "maintain cardio fitness". Is the "maintain cardio fitness" only available in Premium? It didn't seem that that was the case when I reviewed your references.

@grbmds to set your Fitness Target, select Cardio Load:

Then tap "Adjust my target" and select your preferred option.

As mentioned above, this is not a Premium feature.
