Unfair Access to Fitbit Features in Certain Countries

I wanted to share my thoughts and concerns regarding the limited availability of some features like SpO2, ECG, and skin temperature tracking in certain countries. While I understand that these restrictions might be due to regulatory or other constraints, I find it frustrating as a customer to pay full price for a device and subscription, only to have access to fewer features than others in different regions.

The promotional materials include disclaimers like:
"Not available in all countries. Blood oxygen measurements, when available and enabled, are intended for general fitness and wellness purposes and are not intended to diagnose or treat any medical condition or for any other medical use, including self-diagnosis or consultation with a doctor."

While this is technically clear, the information about regional restrictions is thinly spread across Google product pages and promo materials, making it easy to overlook. Many of us purchase Fitbit devices for their advanced capabilities, and it’s disappointing to discover after purchase that some features are inaccessible without clear upfront communication.

If these features can’t be made available in certain countries, could Fitbit consider offering reduced subscription fees or additional compensatory features for those users? It would feel a lot fairer than charging the same premium for a limited experience.

I’d love to hear if anyone else feels the same way or if there’s been any movement from Fitbit to address this concern. Transparency and equitable value should be a priority for a global product.

Hello @frustraded_user and welcome to the Community.  Product Experts aren't Fitbit employees and I understand your frustration.  None of the features you listed require Premium.  They are free to all users in available countries.  Users in other countries write that they can get access by using a VPN connected a server in a country like the US or UK, where these features are available.
