Versa 2 and Premium feature feedback

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Your advertising department / whoever writes your reseller specs or text goofed up.

I'm posting this in hopes you will change some things, and also to warn any potential customers of this problem. I wouldn't have bought the Versa 2 if I knew what I know now.

I bought the Versa 2 watch to primarily monitor my heart rate when I'm sleeping.
But to see my heart rate for when I've been asleep, I need a premium subscription.
Something you won't discover until you've bought the device and used it for a while.
And when you've used something, you can't return it. Wonderful.

If you do not have premium, your heart rate graphs in the app and on the website are replaced by small dots, when the Versa 2 has detected you as asleep.

Those dots magically change to real graph plots when you subscribe to premium.

There's more issues, but this is the biggest obvious one to me.

No where, when you buy the product, does it say that this basic feature requires a subscription.
If you/it did, there's no way I would have bought your product.

Most online shops and retailers I've checked, including your own shop, have the Versa 2 listed with features like this: "24/7 heart rate tracking". Zero mention of it requiring premium.

On your own website, you do have an asterisk that symbolizes that a paid subscription is required for some things. But the asterisk does not appear for 24/7 heart rate tracking.
And the asterisk nor any mention of paid subscription/Premium is mentioned in other online shops (at least the 20 or so I’ve checked).

A longer text on some websites also reads "The sleep measuring function measures your pulse, how long you're awake and sleep, and various sleep patterns, and gives a sleep-rating and suggestiions on how to improve your sleeping rhythm" (translated from Danish).

On bestbuy.com and Amazon, Versa 2 is listed with "24/7 heart rate tracking" with no mention of premium. So it's not just a Danish or European goof. It appears to be global.

This is not legal. It's text book false advertising.

Even if you did mention the required subscription in your specs/distributer sales text, it's plenty worrisome, as your customers already pay handsomely for the device and so expect to get the features they paid for.

You're forcing me and everyone else to pay more than expected, and that's no good.

It's unacceptable that you lock a basic feature like that to Premium.

What else is locked down beside heart rate while sleeping?

I'd like to see a comprehensible list of what I'm missing out on, as I haven't been able to find one anywhere.

I'm stuck with the Versa 2 watch now, because I can't return it since it's been used. So I guess I'm forced to pay for your Premium, unless I want to throw the watch in the trash.

Your Premium subscription is also way too high. It costs more than a Netflix subscription! I mean, c'mon..

And also regarding Alexa.. Here in Denmark, Versa 2 is advertised as having voice control.
But it does not have voice control, unless you jump through some hoops and set your country to e.g. United Kingdom. And it's only in English (I understand why, but many won't). Another goof.

If nothing is done about the false advertising, I'll have to report this to my national consumer association, the EU (as this is not only happening in my country), Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play).

Here's a few screenshots of your own website, bestbuy and amazon, showing the Versa 2 and the mentioned issues.

It does include 24 hour heart rate tracking without Premium, as it always has.

I find the best way to see this is to look at the fitbit.com dashboard in web browser (click Dashboard near top right of this page if in browser).  On the wide graph with 2 drop-down menus at right, select heart rate and Daily.  You can see 24 hour rate at 5 minute intervals, plus move cursor over display and get readout of exact data at the point.

You can also see graph on phone app in heart rate tile, but with less detail.  These are still there as they have been for a long time.

What you get with Premium, is a graph of just overnight sleep, though in same detail as the graph I mentioned above available to everyone, plus the average overnight and amount of time above and below that average.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Haven't tried the website, I am talking about the app and my experience
with it - dots disappearing from sleep graph when activating premium (dots
in periods of sleep).

I don't have premium and I still get the heart rate graph while sleeping on the android app.

Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing?

Sadly no, after I got premium (and cancelled it), the premium is still active and the graph shows sleep just fine. It did not before premium. This is also experienced and described in other threads.

I have to agree with @JohnnyRow and @Gainn, all the HR graphs that were available before premium are still available for non premium users. The premium only sleep graph is a completely new graph that was introduced as part of premium, this was never available previously.

@JohnnyRow has posted a great explanation as to how best to view the HR graphs via the Web and app. Just to add, to view your 24/7 HR plots in the phone app you will need to look in the heart rate tile and not the sleep tile.

@N8teGee I am talking about the standard graph you get when you go under heart rate. When not premium, ALL the graphs there were blanked out for sleeping period. Am waiting to see if it changes back once the premium trial expires.

My Versa 2 shows heart rate 24h, also while sleeping. The only periods that are blank are when I charge it.

Please just create a new account without premium, use it with your watch for 48h, and come back here to tell us all that you were wrong.

I'm sorry Ceshi... But this tab for "Sleeping Heart Rate" was active when I first bought my Fitbit. I know that for a fact because I used to look at it. Now it is hidden behind a Premium subscription.

Removing free features and putting them behind a paywall AFTER a customer had already bought the device is deceptive business practice.

The "Sleeping hear rate" is a new functionality that compares HR while you sleep with HR while you are resting during the day, and they call it Restoration.

What you are looking for is on the normal HR graph, and it should register 24h HR, also while sleeping. If it is not working, it must be a technical problem, like your phone disabling bluettooh, or the Fitbit app, to conserve battery or something like that.

I am sure that Fitbit is not hiding HR data on the normal 24h HR graph.
