Can someone please explain.  In one log on one day I used 2500 calories yet on another log I used 460 calories.  In my estimation the 460 is correct, why then does it show 2500.

Welcome to the boards.

I suspect you are talking about the Web Dashboard versus the Fitbit app Dashboard?

Which log belongs to what value?

@Pushman, what log shows 2500 calories, and what log shows 460 calories?

If those totals represent a full day, then it is almost a certainty that the 2,500 is correct.

There is a term called Basic Metabolic Rate that represents the number of calories required just to keep your body going, breathing, keeping your brain, muscles and organs properly supplied with oxygen and nutrients, etc.

The normal range for BMR is around a calorie a minute. Fit bit estimates mine at 1.2 calories or 1.728 a day. My wife's is 1.1 or 1,584 a day. All other activity above just laying on a bed asleep adds to that total.
