Where is the barcode scanner in your app?

Hello,

I am looking for the barcode scanner on the new fitbit UI in the app but i cannot find it.

Prior to the update to the new updated UI it had a big + icon to add things quickly, this also included the scanner.

Does anybody know where the scanner button is located now? It is not in the "calories in" because the + next to that brings me to the standard search for food page.

Appreciate any advise / tips. Thanks!

@shanel262 Thanks for getting back. I appreciate the extra details mentioned.

Currently, barcode scanning is only available for customers using the United States food database. If you use another food database, the barcode scanning option won't work. To check which food database you're using, see How do I change my food database?

I'll be around if you have any additional questions!

A warm welcome to the Community @Rudo. Thanks for the details mentioned.

You can find the barcode scanner by following these steps:

- Go to the main page on your app

- Tap on the food icon

- You'll see the barcode scanner next to the space where you enter the food

I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Hello,

I don’t see a food icon.

Remember I am using the new UI.

I only see the calories for the day and if I click the plus icon then I can just search for food and log calories. I see no barcode icon.

Can you confirm there is a barcode scanner for the new UI.

Regards,

I just noticed this happening to me, not sure if you figured out why its happening to you but if you go to advanced settings in the Fitbit app and change the food database option then it might work. I changed mine from UK to Ireland and the icon to scan a barcode disappeared, swapped back and then it worked again.. not sure why the barcode scanner wont work in Ireland.

Any ideas @SilviaFitbit?
