Flex 2 won't charge

My Flex 2 won't charge. When I put the pill in the charger (while it's plugged into a usb port), all of the dots flash briefly; the top one is pink and the others white. There is no vibration, and the it does not charge. 

 

Other posts say to reset the Fitbit pill by pushing a button on the charger cable. I am using a usb charger cable that I ordered from Amazon, and there is no button. Please help!

The button to push is on the back of the pill carrier.
