Hello all! The New Year is upon us very soon! The annual goal to run/walk/move 2,020 miles for the year 2020 is right around the corner.
As luck would have it, 2020 is a Leap Year, which means we have an extra day to complete our goal which is ever so slightly easier than last year's goal. Your daily goal is slightly lower, but the weekly and monthly goal slightly increases.
2,020 miles =
5.51 miles per day
38.84 miles per week
168.33 miles per month
Since Fitbit decommissioned the old web-based groups, I created a group in the Fitbit app instead. I will be renaming the current 2019 group to reflect the New Year of 2020 later next week to minimize the amount of invites I have to send out to everyone. So if you're already a part of the 2019 group in the Fitbit, you don't need to do anything!
If you would like to join the 2020 group in the Fitbit app and you're not already apart of the 2019 group, please let me know here and I'll send you a friend request. Once you accept, I can add you to the group.

Apologies to anyone waiting for invites, I've been stuck in bed sick with the flu since Friday night.

@Heather-S
Sorry to hear.
I was looking at your stats and wondered if you were ill. Usually you are cranking out the 20K badges like so much fluff------

I hope it isn't too late to join? This sounds like a great challenge, although I'm not sure it is a realistic one fo me. But I will try! Please add me to the group when you get a chance. And I hope you recover from the flu soon!

@SunsetRunner
Well first of all it is only a 7-day board. It would be nice if it was adjustable to monthly or YTD.
Using a mobile device, select "Community", then "Groups".
You should see a section of Closed Groups with the "2020 Miles in 2020" Group included.

I agree it would be nice if the group Leaderboard could be adjusted to show progress during the year (Jan 1, 2020 to present day/Dec 31, 2020).
I can look at the YTD progress from the website Dashboard by adjusting the dates I want to view.
Is there a way to see this from the Fitbit mobile app?

@FayeValentine I wish we could adjust the group leaderboard to monthly steps, but unfortunately we can't.
You can't find yearly progress in the mobile app either. It can only be found on the web dashboard.

Hi, I am not new to fitbit, but am new to the community forums. I would like to join your 2,020 miles in 2020 group. Thanks.

I gave up already because this goal is to be very stupid. 99% of these steps are not steps. I get 10,000 fitbit steps before 10AM. Those steps are not stride sized steps.... (most of there steps are: doing dishes steps, remote raising steps, keyboard typing steps, masturbating steps, picking my nose steps)
This group needs to be renamed to amount of "x" of "fitbit" steps in 2020.

@rudyten That's not what happens on my Fitbit. Sorry to hear about your experience. My Fitbit counts almost all steps that are legitimate. Sure, I might get 5 false steps when washing dishes, but it's not a mind reader, it goes by motion of the wrist. 99% of my steps are true steps, sorry that's not how you feel your device is behaving. Maybe you need to contact Customer Support for a new one?
