Hello all! The New Year is upon us very soon! The annual goal to run/walk/move 2,020 miles for the year 2020 is right around the corner.
As luck would have it, 2020 is a Leap Year, which means we have an extra day to complete our goal which is ever so slightly easier than last year's goal. Your daily goal is slightly lower, but the weekly and monthly goal slightly increases.
2,020 miles =
5.51 miles per day
38.84 miles per week
168.33 miles per month
Since Fitbit decommissioned the old web-based groups, I created a group in the Fitbit app instead. I will be renaming the current 2019 group to reflect the New Year of 2020 later next week to minimize the amount of invites I have to send out to everyone. So if you're already a part of the 2019 group in the Fitbit, you don't need to do anything!
If you would like to join the 2020 group in the Fitbit app and you're not already apart of the 2019 group, please let me know here and I'll send you a friend request. Once you accept, I can add you to the group.

February has been a horrible month for weather. One storm after another plus work has made getting out difficult at times. Still, progress is progress...

Hi everyone,
I'm defo not a techno buff but would like some help on how to capture photo of the monthly graph detailing my total steps/miles for the month from my Dashboard page on my laptop.
I have sent previous posts of my daily high steps when I've been out on a long runs training for upcoming Marathon, these were taken directly from my phone and posted to the group (bragging/boasting) so there will be some records of my totals to date.
Also I'm showing up on the Group Leader board in position 82 with 86,355 but I did 287.54 miles and 608,676 steps from 01 to 31 January 2020 from photo that I took from the Fitbit dashboard.
Thanks, would appreciate your feedback x

@jennyreds58
Using a desktop computer, I just go to the "Activities" tab, and select either Week or Month. Then change the date range to Jan 1 through today's date.
If you only want one month, instead of January 1 use the first day of the month that you want.
Then I just use Windows 10 snipping tool to capture the screenshot.
As for the Leaderboard, that is just a 7 day cycle.

Likewise here except I simply press "SHIFT-PrtSc" then paste the whole thing into Windows Paint, crop it and save it as a JPG file for the month.
SIMPLES!

Just walking is not enough. I am in Temp AZ I walk A mountain almost daily and usually multiple times.
It is very easy to hit the 10K steps per day. If you just want to get out and maintain a level of fitness great. If you think walking 10K steps per day is helping you loose weight that is another story.
1st see a doctor to determine if your should be pushing your self and find out what your calorie in take should be.. I am 53 years old now I run, walk hit the gym and my lunch break are usually walking a 45 to 60 degree angle up A Mountain in Tempe AZ. I managed to run it from the base to the top. I thought it was going to kill me(joking). It is a very intense walk with typical heart rates of 114 to 125 on my power walks up it. The fitness Challenge at my work is disappointing. I see folks walking 80 or 90 K steps in a week. I don't have that kind of time so Instead I do my intense work outs during the week and run on weekends. I think fitness challenges should be to reach a should of fitness and not just steps.

We all aren't the same. You are 53 and enjoy walking up mountains. I am 68 and I'm fine with 10K steps a day.
I work 7 days a week at my desk, and the minor challenge of 2000 miles a year suits me fine.
Thanks for your insight.

Just walking is more than enough if you usually cannot walk. You have feet. Ever met a person with no legs? I am very sorry that what you eat requires you to have to lose weight and do that much work. Some of us have to take different measures so that exercise doesn't REQUIRE us to "RUN/WALK" a mountain to be healthy. Also if your heart rate is 114 to 125 no matter what incline you are walking......then you have leveled off and are not improving or maintaining anything. For some 80,000 is 79,000 more than they were able to accomplish before. Sanctimony is not really cool.
If you don't think the group is worth it, why say anything?
