2,020 Miles in 2020

Hello all!  The New Year is upon us very soon!  The annual goal to run/walk/move 2,020 miles for the year 2020 is right around the corner.

As luck would have it, 2020 is a Leap Year, which means we have an extra day to complete our goal which is ever so slightly easier than last year's goal.  Your daily goal is slightly lower, but the weekly and monthly goal slightly increases.

2,020 miles =

5.51 miles per day

38.84 miles per week

168.33 miles per month

Since Fitbit decommissioned the old web-based groups, I created a group in the Fitbit app instead.  I will be renaming the current 2019 group to reflect the New Year of 2020 later next week to minimize the amount of invites I have to send out to everyone.  So if you're already a part of the 2019 group in the Fitbit, you don't need to do anything!

If you would like to join the 2020 group in the Fitbit app and you're not already apart of the 2019 group, please let me know here and I'll send you a friend request.  Once you accept, I can add you to the group.

I started working on it in January, I just finally decided to go ahead and
buy the medal and tracker to help keep up with it. What do I need to do to
join the group?

I am in the same boat 6' away :P.   Plus the temp here have been over 100 and just going to get hotter as the summer progresses.

My work has a fitness challenge. I have a lot of trouble getting in even 10,000 walking steps. I go running when it cool enough and doesn't interfere with work.

I know I am starting late, but would like to try to see if I can go the distance for 2020. If you can add me to the group challenge.

Hi everyone, sorry I've been MIA the last month.  I am trying to keep my eye on this thread so I can invite people who wish to participate.  If I overlooked you, I apologize.  Work has been extra busy this month and then we received some unfortunate news - our 10 year old labrador has cancer on her leg.  She is scheduled to see a specialist vet surgeon next week for its removal.  Last night she had a seizure, which was very scary, so she spent the night at the ER vet.  I am just very tired and stretched thin at the moment.

Please let me know if you are still waiting for your invite.  I have not forgotten about the group.  🙂

Finance Babe, No worries.  I think everyone in the group understands what the last couple of months have been like. I'm in health care so my participation has dropped off considerably (unless standing all day can earn me steps  lol)  I am so sorry to hear about your furry kid.  I lost my alpha dog of 18 years last October and we are still trying to figure out life without the big guy-I will tell you he was a three legged great dane and did very well as a tripod.  I appreciate you starting the group and keeping it going through unprecedented times for sure.  For those who have been sidelined due to schedules, illness, employment and finance issues-we got 2021 in the bag!!! We may have to hit reset but we got this. I am wishing you all good health, safe distances, and resilience.  We are runners/walkers, we will not let this slow us down!!!
