2015 Goals with Fitbit?

Today is New Year's Eve and my mind is buzzing with ideas for the upcoming year! Smiley Very Happy

Having my lovely Fitbit on my side will certainly help me reach my goals for 2015. Some of them are weight and health related but a couple of them are to rest, make me step out of my comfort zone and try new things :smileywink:

So far I have:

  1. Reach 100 pounds lost (41 pounds so far!)
  2. Get 10,000 steps at least 3 times per week
  3. Complete the C25K
  4. Run a 5k for my birthday and a 10k by the end of the year
  5. Explore new places! Climb a volcano, run around a lake or a beach
  6. Walk with friends and family
  7. Sleep 8 hours a day
  8. Improve my eating habits

How are you going to use your Fitbit towards your 2015 goals?

I agree @Hats26 and I think that the creativity given in planning every running event also gets you going. This attracts more people to actually be a part of an exercise routine.

I wish you the best! Smiley Happy

Great tip @Hats26. I agree. It also helps to re-count at the end of the year all the activities we performed. Cat Happy

I'd like to welcome you to the forums @brittanyabby, please know that I've been there too.

Getting upset about the situation is the first step to change it. Step a bit more each day, eat a little better every day and repeat, day after day this will add up and give you great results.

I was weighing pretty much the same as you are and I've found great progress using my Fitbit and MyFitnessPal to count my calories.

If you feel like you may be compulsively eating, I'd like to invite you to a meeting at Overeaters Anonymous

I started the year at 213 pounds (6'2" male). My 2015 goal was to hit 200 pounds by my wedding day of May 30, so I could look a little better in my suit. I'd hit that goal by mid-March so I set a new goal of 190 pounds by my wedding day. My weigh-in the morning of the big day I was at 185. I had to get my custom made suit subsantially altered the week before my wedding. Needless to say, I was very happy with crushing that goal.

My other 2015 goal is to make Division 1 squash at my club. I'm currently in Division 2. Losing the weight really helped me pick up some speed on the court. In order to move up, I need to win Division 2. I've gone to the final match the last two seasons but couldn't book the win. I've got one more shot this year with the finals in December. My plan is to focus on training for endurance over the summer and have a great fall season.

My main goal is to lose the extra weight I'm carrying, particularly around the midsection.  Until I got my FitBit, my diet was pretty bad.  Now I have no excuse, since all the metrics are in my face and taunting me to step more and burn more caleries.

I don't have any other goals except maybe for jogging/running as an activity.  It would be awesome if I can do a 5K to half marathon, which is not a far stretch of a goal by end of year.  Unfortunately, I'm currently dealing with a mild form of "plantar fasciitis," which is chronic pain and tendernous in the bottom of the foot.  Maintaining a healthy weight and having good arch support are good treatments.  Hopefully, I will be at least jobbing in no time.

That's it for me.  One step at a time! (I know, I just cringed at the cliche)

I would love to be under 300 pounds, I only got like 8 pounds (approximent) to go. I would like to get my lifetime stepcount to be over 5 million steps. I know it will be a challenge that one but I want to get there.
