Today is New Year's Eve and my mind is buzzing with ideas for the upcoming year!
Having my lovely Fitbit on my side will certainly help me reach my goals for 2015. Some of them are weight and health related but a couple of them are to rest, make me step out of my comfort zone and try new things
So far I have:
How are you going to use your Fitbit towards your 2015 goals?

@Dominique That's so good to hear! Personally, I think competing is a great motivation but you shouldn't be obsessive about getting in shape just because you want to look like the other person it's just about being healthy and making you feel comfortable with your body.
Congrats and continue doing a great job

Pretty simple, really:
1. Shed the extra pounds (looking to drop about 30lbs, altogether. From 215 to 185)
2. Use it for motivation to do the PAC West Spartan Spint this August.

This fitness bug I caught was planted by a co-worker, just a week before Christmas.
We both wanted to lose weight but had gained it all back and were talking about how good it felt to be thin and agile. So after a few minutes we came up the Biggest loser challenge and fast forward to today we have 4 other people who joined our challenge. The idea is simple: reach your target goal or cough up $200. Everyone competing has to lose atleast 20 to 25 lbs. So here are mine (plus afew that are more personal that competitive)
-Reach 165lbs by May 1st
-Do a 100 pushups by that time.
-Run 1 hour 30 minutes at an average of 5mph.
-Eat clean during the entire time (cheat meal : 1 per week)
-Sleep atleast 7 hours every day
-Work no more than 10 hours a day.
Long term goal (the most important one):
Maintain weight between 165-170lbs and get a 6 pack by Dec 31st 2015.

In 2015, my goals are:
1) Quit smoking - CHECK. Smoke-free since January 1st though it wasn't a New Year's resolution. I just ran out of smokes and decided 30 years of smoking was enough. 🙂
2) Face my Dentist Demon - CHECK. I found a tremendous Dentist Dr. Campbell Family Dentistry in Holly Springs, NC. My oral health is improving in 2015 along with my physical health.
3) Buy a pair of real running shoes - CHECK. I am a proud owner of Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15s. They are perfect for me.
4) Buy real running gear that keeps me comfortable regardless the weather - CHECK. I like the way I feel and that keeps me running. 🙂
5) Buy a Health Magazine - CHECK. I have bought back to back issues of Runner's World. I enjoy reading training techniques for beginners.
6) Buy a fitness tracker - CHECK. I bought a Fitbit Charge HR on 2/3/15 after weeks of research. I love it afternoon most of aftermarket the Fitbit community.
7) Run over 5 distance without stopping - CHECK. I ran 3.3 miles straight out today. I've been building up to this using frequent walk breaks in previous workouts.
😎 Run in my first 5k Race - Scheduled for 3/21/15
9) Run in my first 10k Race in the Fall 2015.
10) Keep learning from others about health and fitness, and share my stories along the way.
To our health!
Brian

I've made small incremental goals I know I can accomplish, so I'm doing 10 lbs. at a time. I started out weighing 287, my goal is 270, currently I am at 274. Now that feels good just got to push a little bit more and I'll hit my 270 weight goal! Once I do that then I'll make another one for 260 and on and on I go until I get to 250 lbs.
I have the Fitbit Charge HR
Goals:
1. Get in shape
2. Do and Complete the Warrior Dash in my area (Maryland) for 2015
