Calories under budget

I understand that not eating enough calories can be as bad as eating too many but my question is this....

If I burn 3,000 calories and my goal is to burn 1,000 more than I eat at the MINIMUM, my Fitbit Flex shows it in red if I don't intake enough calories.  So if I burn 3,000 calories, I have to eat 2,000 to make my graph stay green.... The problem is, I can't eat 2,000 calories anymore (good problem to have) so if I only eat 1500, the calorie graph shows red as if I am being a bad boy... haha... WHY?

Because it's attempting to help you keep a reasonable deficit.

And actually, 2 lbs weekly may not even be reasonable depending on how much you have to lose.

Feel like losing muscle mass? Keep it up. That'll bite big time later when it's easier to gain it back and harder to lose it next time.

And you are having a hard time hitting 2000 with the food selections you have limited yourself to.

Throw some fat in there, needed for good hormone balance, and you should have no problem.

Weighed serving of peanut butter, or some almonds, or any variety of healthy items would get you 500 through the day.

Because you feeling full, and your body being fully fed for level of activity - are 2 unrelated items.

Are you sure you've selected the right calorie deficit on Fitbit?

Are you checking on the mobile app or desktop site? I've noticed the mobile app can take a while to adjust the calories in vs out color.

Are you checking at a particular time of day? I usually add all of my meals early in the day, so my graph is often red until late at night.

(And do check with a doctor/nutritionist that your current weight loss plan is healthy. A 1500 a day calorie deficiency might end up hurting more than it helps. Fitbit is only a fancy measuring tool, it doesn't always know what's best for individual users.)
