Can I wear 2 Fitbits at once?

I'm not sure if this is in the right area, but I needed to ask this question.

I started out with an Alta, and just recently got a Flex 2. Can I wear these both at once, or will it cancel each other out? I bought the Flex 2 so I could use it for swimming, but what I had planned on doing was putting the Flex 2 on my ankle, and the Alta on my wrist so I could see what time it is, and my steps, and other stuff like that.

Help?

If you're going to wear both at the same time you are best to set up a separate account (just find a free email account for it).  I have both my Charge 2 and my Charge HR on the same account (I wear them at different times), however, every now and then I'll lose steps if I'm not careful changing them out.  It's probably only happened 3 or 4 times, but still.  At home I leave one further away and it seems to work well.  I'll manually sync before I swap them out (and repeat).  My Flex 2 is on another account and I have to remember to charge it up now that the pool is open.  I'm odd though, I just wear them on the same arm, I don't care if it makes me a little geeky.

I still have my old One, but I really don't wear it much anymore.  I keep meaning to ask friends if they would like it, but most people I know that are using trackers are using wrist-based ones.

@CRSunrise,

I tried this with a Surge and a Zip connected to the same account. There didn't seem to be any problem.

Keep in mind, it should always sync to the highest step count and calories sensed. This may increase errors from steps caused by arm motions.

That's exactly what I want to do. Wear one on my ankle when I'm on my exercise bike without removing the one on my wrist. Thanks. I have a feeling it isn't a good idea.

@rosebud2018  It can be done.. To have the two Fitbits on the one account they have to be different Fitbits, and from my knowledge you can't have a Versa and an Ionic on the same account.

You have to be disciplined and when you are about to work with the two Fitbits, you need to sync the current one first, get you step count, and then sync the one on for your ankle which will then have the same step count,

A big BUT, you may have trouble syncing and may have to turn a Fitbit off or move the dormant one at least 45' or 14m away..

I used the dual method for awhile and in the end I found the effort of trying to sync the Fitbit with the greatest steps and the hit a miss where the lower Fitbit overwrote the higher step Fitbit was frustrating.

Let's know how you go.

LOL - I did what you did. It was working with "discipline" as you said. In the end the Charge 3 has so much more than the Alta HR and is actually more comfortable....so I ditched the Alta and have stuck with the Charge 3. Everything is synching (fingers crossed) and working.

The only reason I wanted the other was for the exercise bike - which I just enter manually now.

Thanks for the reply!
