Does anyone else have an active job?

I'm a dog walker. I just wondered if there were any other walkers, post men/women, etc.

Would be great to team up for mutual support! 🙂

I've got a pretty physical job. Can spend hours on my feet! Just got a Flex, and really curious how my time at work will add up. Really want to maintain some sort of pace off duty too (which is why I bought it). Add me if you'd like, I'm hoping to add some friends for some motivation! 🙂

I wouldn't say that my job is very "active", but between school and my internship I find myself walking often just to get to places.

I'm a vet tech, so I spend all day on my feet. I also walk to work. I walk everywhere; I hate driving!

a lot of jobs you'd be surprised to find how active you are, for instance the new job i just started i can average 4000-6000 steps in an 8 hour shift depending on how often i have to travel from the main to the satellite lab, however my second job (which is in retail) i avergae about 6000 steps in 4 hours. The first time i worked a full 9 hour shift with my fitbit at that job i did about 14,000 steps at work alone; and that was a slow day!

we have a family business retailing agricultural products. when its corn harvesting season, i usually help out, and its normal to lift about 200 sacks of corn, each weighing about 80 kilos (the light ones) and 110 kilos (the really big ones). of course i dont lift it myself ... its a 3 person job - 2 to lift the sack over the 3rd person's head.

we also sell sacks of rice, but they are very light at 50 kilos each.

i guess that counts for an active job ... the thing is, it does not reflect much on the fitbit lol ... so i do my fair share of pacing around the store premises to get to 10K steps a day
