I have always felt good after working out, but recently I have started including high intensity bursts into my workouts, and when I have finished I feel euphoric. It really is a sort of high. I have googled it, and this is not an unusual reaction, but it seems to only occur after I have really pushed myself. It is a strange but very pleasant feeling.
Does anyone else get this?
I also do this. If I start feeling like i'm getting too comfortable with my workout, like during my jogging or my cardio class, like it it's not challenging me enough I push harder and bump up the speed or choose the higher intensity option during the workout. It gives me a huge boost like I just conquered the world lol
You are not alone, i'm an endorphin junkie too 😉
Yeah. Have always got a buzz out of sweating! Sometimes I hop onto the treadmill at the gym and just run as fast as I can for 3 or 4 minutes. That always makes me grin. It doesn't replace a proper workout but it sometimes makes for a fun finish.
Best AnswerThat sounds very familiar to me. I was a mountain and road bike racer in my mid twenties ( I am 50 now). My training rides of 60 miles long, slow, distance never produced the endorphins that intense interval training did. So, the type of "pushing yourself" does seem to matter.
As you increase your fitness levels it will be harder to attain the same euphoric feeling. Drink lots of water on interval training days and always allow for sleep and recovery between intense sessions.
