I like the new hourly indicator they have added to the fitbit. Wish it buzzed every hour though.:)
Now I get up every hour and walk around the house for at least 250 steps. It really adds up fast and I feel much more energetic also.

Get off the sofa, and go out for a walk several times a day. You'll feel better, and have lots more energy after getting your blood circulating. And, you'll be surprised how fast the steps add up!

You should also try running in place and see how long you can last doing that. You will get a lot of steps in and not even realize it as long as your mind is on something else while you are doing that excercise.

All it takes to get 10,000 steps is a one-hour walk. If you are spending the whole day at home, you should be able to dedicate that much to a single walk. That would still leave you with plenty of time for watching TV, resting from your long shifts, shopping for grocery etc.

I jog in place in front of the TV. I can get a lot of steps that way, and I barely notice because I'm interested in the show I'm watching.

Its really easy you stand up and get off the Sofa . . . that it . . .turn off the TV get off the social media. Develoup a healthy habit like going for a 1 hour bike ride on your 4 days a week off, or join a gym and lift weights those 4 days followed by 30 mins of elliptical.

The Alta has a "Reminder to move" feature, that kind of does that. It’s the only Fitbit with such a feature for the time being, but my understanding is it will eventually be added to the Blaze via a firmware update.

I've set up "silent alarms" so it DOES buzz every hour! : )
The only issue is that the maximum number of alarms is one less than I need.....so I decided to not set an alarm for noon since I typically leave the office for lunch and get 250+ steps in without the alarm.
