Hey Fools! -- This is no joke! It's the Monthly Step Challenge for April!

ANSWERED

OK, you know you made some foolish promises to yourself in January and now you are trying to pretend that never happened, right?  Well, one fourth of 2018 has come and gone.  It is April now and with a nod toward the foolishness in all of us, it’s time for a reset — maybe with some more realistic goals going forward 🙂

How It Works:

The primary purpose of these monthly challenges has been to keep track of your daily step goals for the month; though many of us track other things as well, like body weight exercises, sleep, trips to the gym, logging food, etc. This is not a competition to see who can do the most of whatever, instead it is a challenge to measure your consistency. So whether you do 1k, 5k, 10k or even 40k steps a day, this is measuring how many days out of the monthly total you can hit your goal.

Some might have a constant goal of 10k steps every single day and others might have a variable goal throughout the week, (and some might even plan days off!) for example.
Monday -> Friday = 10k steps a day
Sat & Sun = “6k steps a day,” or “not tracking”

Regardless of how you structure your daily goals, the only thing that matters for the monthly challenge is whether or not you reach what you set out to do.

Suggested Posting Format
1) Post either your constant or variable step goal.
2) Keep track of the # of daily goals achieved out of the monthly minimum and or monthly total

Although you certainly don’t have to post daily, you’ll likely stay closer to what you use set out to do by updating the thread several times/week

Injury Notice
If you injure yourself during the month and need to scale back due to the injury, then all you have to do is adjust your goal for that period. If you normally do 10k steps a day but pull a hamstring and decide to do minimal walking (2k steps a day), then all you have to do is change your goal.

Well I said I wouldn't do another 25K and there it is.  It was different for sure.  Yesterday I had the insomnia walk that put me at 6500 before the kids got out of bed.  Then I had to go to work to let a workman in the building.  I walked to work.  stayed there 20 minutes and walked home.  So I was at 14.5K before 9 am.  The rest was just easy.  I went grocery shopping and took the dog for a walk.

Today otoh I couldnt walk to work because they are calling for "trees blowing down on your head" type winds and it is already 1 pm and I am less than 2.5K.  The 10 will be a challenge.

Flying back to Baltimore tomorrow early.  Might get some steps at the airport, but getting my 15K might be a challenge.  Be good to start getting some weight training in next week.  Been missing it while on my work/vacation.

One step of my 15k yesterday with my San Diego friend Kumi 😀

Lack of sleep caught up with me this weekend.  Slept a lot yesterday.  Back to waking up at 3:30 this mroning but just stayed in bed. I have so many paperwork things to do this week its going to be hard to get the steps in.  But it isnt supposed to rain today so I am going to try to get some today.

Haven't had any mail in a week, not even the coupon circular so first errand will be to go to the post office and figure otu where the heck all my mail is.

Glad to see that we're still up and running this monthly challenge.  Sorry folks, life interfered.  I think some of you know it started with a death in the family.  However, it continued with a change in jobs (which added a commute).  Oddly enough I was still doing pretty well on the steps and mediocre on the food.  What it did leave me with was almost no free time.   I spent 3 weeks in Scotland over Christmas/New Years (family).  At the Feb I picked up a bit of a cough, which someone at work was told was the 100-day cough.  March brought a change in employment status (laid off) and the cold got worse... couldn't talk for a week, and still don't feel 100%.  However, April 1st I made a point to drag myself out of the complete rest... so I'm in for this month with the minimal option.  May will bring different challenges.  I'm starting to go though the house and make a serious attempt at downsizing as if I can't find anything reasonably local I'll probably put the house on the market at some point.  It would also be nice if the freakin' snow stopped.  We are still showing potential snow up until about the 18th (but warm on this Thursday).

10,000 steps a day

I'm 8/9 days so far, but would like to finish the month at 29 days though.

I was away for the weekend so didnt meet my step goal for three days, but I'm allowed to do that so still on target! Got a few hours dancing in as we had a competition in Sunday and then 4 hours of lessons on Monday. We have to do the lessons in big clumps as we live too far away to have regular ones. Not as effective as regular lessons but it is the best we can do!

Yep, I didn't do the extra 50 steps that would have knocked off that 20K goal for the month.
@A_Lurker  welcome!

@Baltoscottyes, it is clear from yesterday that I am going to have to up the intensity darn soon if I am going to keep the burn up.  I don't have time to keep walking over 20K steps a day.  Yesterdays' 19950 left me 50 calories shy as well.

I have greatly neglected my paperwork for the last 5 months.  The first 3 months was crazy work schedule and crippling depression the last 2 has been crazy work schedule and focusing on nothing but turning my health around.  Had to open mail for 2 hours yesterday to get all my tax stuff together.  I used to be the person who did it on Feb 1.  Sigh.
