Hey Fools! -- This is no joke! It's the Monthly Step Challenge for April!

ANSWERED

OK, you know you made some foolish promises to yourself in January and now you are trying to pretend that never happened, right?  Well, one fourth of 2018 has come and gone.  It is April now and with a nod toward the foolishness in all of us, it’s time for a reset — maybe with some more realistic goals going forward 🙂

How It Works:

The primary purpose of these monthly challenges has been to keep track of your daily step goals for the month; though many of us track other things as well, like body weight exercises, sleep, trips to the gym, logging food, etc. This is not a competition to see who can do the most of whatever, instead it is a challenge to measure your consistency. So whether you do 1k, 5k, 10k or even 40k steps a day, this is measuring how many days out of the monthly total you can hit your goal.

Some might have a constant goal of 10k steps every single day and others might have a variable goal throughout the week, (and some might even plan days off!) for example.
Monday -> Friday = 10k steps a day
Sat & Sun = “6k steps a day,” or “not tracking”

Regardless of how you structure your daily goals, the only thing that matters for the monthly challenge is whether or not you reach what you set out to do.

Suggested Posting Format
1) Post either your constant or variable step goal.
2) Keep track of the # of daily goals achieved out of the monthly minimum and or monthly total

Although you certainly don’t have to post daily, you’ll likely stay closer to what you use set out to do by updating the thread several times/week

Injury Notice
If you injure yourself during the month and need to scale back due to the injury, then all you have to do is adjust your goal for that period. If you normally do 10k steps a day but pull a hamstring and decide to do minimal walking (2k steps a day), then all you have to do is change your goal.

27 April  Im not going to get a Coach or bike in before the end of the Month (so that one is a fail!) as I am off to Perth again tomorrow for another comp. I'm really working most on my average steps for the month as I DO want to get my average over 10,000. But there will be limited stepping opportunities with being in the car 5 hours tomorrow and another 5 on Monday, and I wont have a tracker on on Sunday. Oh well, have to see how we go!

Swim                2/2        8/8

I will be back in but need to reduce my step goal. Need to see how I do in the next few days. Will leave that part blank for now.

Found out I have some minor back  problems. Going to  Physical Therapy. Started today.

Hi, been MIA, trying to figure out how I want to do things.
Will probably count today as part of May as weekly summaries work best for me.

Strength workouts are coming along  - HIIT not so much so that is what I am looking to add for may
My somewhat needy mother is here all week and i am finding myself not working out when I could be because before she wakes up is the only time I can just be online or read.

Average step count this month: 7,500 (had some days when I just couldn't make it very far)

Weight loss this month: 1.9 kg (had some ups-and-downs, but still managed to get the weight back down to previous level and then go lower)

Not perfect, and far from meeting all my goals; but I purposefully set the bar higher. The 1.5 min planks were an extra challenge that I'm glad I managed to do, even if only about every 4 days. Smiley Very Happy

Feel pretty good about the month.  The weight-lifting goal was a little short, but that’s because I didn’t have access to a gym while I was in San Diego.  Wound up with some extra body-weight workouts to make up for it.  Will keep working on the sleep challenge next month.

See y’all at MAYhem.

@WendyB- sorry to hear that things aren't well.  Like @GershonSurge said in another post, if something isn't right, rest is definitely a good thing.

Before I pop over into May's thread I should finish off April's.  I think (hope) we've left the snow behind.  I was out Saturday night and it was snowing slightly on the way home, but not enough that it was there Sunday morning.  This coming Saturday night the overnight temp is 1C so you never know.  However, today it was 25C - very strange weather.

Anyway, for April the goal was 10,000 steps a day (knowing I'd already missed one) so:

So my April goals are to Average:

14 k steps per day

30 floors per day

7 miles per day

Raised my daily step goal in April from 10,000 to 14,000 thinking it would be hard to do. Turned out it just challanged me to do better, even did some hiking in the national forest.
