Hey, I'm a teenager, and I would love to lose some weight. So, me and my mother are going on a fitness challenge through June 19th and July 19th. I'm also going vegeterian or even vegan through that time period, and I would love to know how to get 50,000 steps in a single day. I'm getting a new iPhone if I win this competition. Help! 🙂

You are doing a disservice to the fitbit community, and to anyone who wants to become healthy by adding activity to their lifestyle.
50,000 steps a day is lunacy, and detrimental to the average person, and even to smart athletes.
Using 2000 steps per mile (which is normal), You're encouraging someone who has not been training for any period of time to run the equivalent of a marathon every day.
For a beginner (anything less than a year of training) this is the most irresponsible advice you could suggest.
Fitbit sets their devices to 10,000 steps per day, because the Surgeon General recommends that for a healthy active lifestyle. This is unachievable for many beginners, and they will have to work up to 10,000 steps. This isn't done by increasing by a thousand every day, or by 10,000 a week as you post suggests.
At the very least it's over months.
Posts like your are irresponsible, and will cause injury, and could be fatal, to someone who thinks they have to meet your schedule.

.
depending the job.
i'm an an I.T. guy, and my day goes from 5 000 steps to more than 10 000, depending if I stay in my office or help users or look at faulty devices at the other ends of the buildings.
my son works in a grocery, and did 15 000 to 18 000 steps a day.
my girlfriend is a teacher, doing also 15 000 during her working day.
a step in the stair/in the kitchen is shorter than in a marathon.
I agree I have to walk more than 40 km on sunday, if i want 50 000 steps.
I tried.
