no. When I got this new computer a year or so ago, and set up my old Fitbit account this is the windows 11 "app" "downloaded" to my windows 11 laptop. Now I see that this "app" working on 11 is incredibly different from the app you normal folk apparently are using . . . and since Fitbit has been incredibly "helpful" in resolving past issues (anything that goes wrong, they basically says it's me and that they'll give me a coupon for x% off a new fitbit which will fix everything) . . . . I followed your "suggestion" and went to the fitbit website, which it turns out is different from your app, my "app" and any other app/website i previously visited. I see the header you're mentioning and can figure it out from here. You'd think one of the outsourced geniuses
that Fitbit uses could have led me there.

This makes this sound so easy. It is not.
Over the past few months I've lost 2 days of record walking distances that can never be recovered, and will never be part of the record I've been building since 2020, including over 19K steps walked in Europe that were lost because watch would not synch in new time zones.
Annoyed doesn't begin to describe how I feel about this. Unpredicatble battery charging issues, problems synching with LoseIt app... Several different sets of instructions for how to manually log steps or distance, none of which works for the previous day!
I think this is my 4th fitbit, and I could gladly just drive my car over it and feel much better. So tired of bloated, overly complex, no intuitive apps... I want a watch, with the day of the year, and an accurate accelerometer I can actually work with. It would also be nice to be in contact with a live human periodically...

That does NOT let you manually enter step, just other details and then steps are calculated.
That's not what the question was asking

I have 2 fitbits and the one I wasn't wearing (afitbit One), after syncing, removed about 2500 steps the alta recorded during my 60 min walk. I realized that after I'd been sitting for sbout 45 min after the walk. So, I entered a 30 min, 1.5 mile walk to see how close that would get me to the 2500 steps I lost. It shows as exercise, but there's no increase in steps or calories. Tried multiple times.

There is no stop watch after tapping the exercise icon. Charge 5. I hate this watch. My screen froze and I couldn’t shut my phone off. I had to go online. Turns out, it’s Fitbits fault

How can I add steps, not miles, in the app?
Since the dashboard for this is not available any longer, I'd like to know how to add steps using the app.

I have the same question. Now that you can’t use the website to do this, how are you supposed to just add steps? I didn’t go on a “walk”, I have just been doing chores and forgot to put my watch on after charging last night. I’ve had my phone with me so I have a good idea of the steps and would like to enter them into the app.

Hi, @AYCGirl1 and @Pbaillie , you can still add steps, but you do need to add your steps as part of an exercise activity - for example “walk”. From the opening, Today, screen of the app find the “exercise” tile and then on the next screen click “add exercise”.
If you tend to have your phone with you when you forget to wear your Fitbit, you can set up your phone as an extra “device” so that it will count the steps from your phone. There is more information on how to set this up here . Basically from the Today screen of the app click on the device icon top left (smart phone and watch) and from the list of current devices choose “Phone” and follow the instructions from there. That way steps do not necessarily have to be added as an exercise event - they just act the same as Fitbit steps detected just from going about your daily activities.

Hi. On my app there is no Exercise tile per se. There is a + sign that lets me add an Activity. When I add a walk it only allows me to add a duration in time or a distance, not steps. This used to be possible on the website but now I can’t figure it out on the app.

@AYCGirl1 , I know. It isn’t ideal. But if you add a distance it will calculate steps. These manually added steps won’t count for badges and other totals. I am not sure that Google totally understood how much flexibility is being lost with the retirement of the web based platform.

I hate this watch too, Charge 5. The one i had before was perfect, so they "fixed it". The watch band is ridiculously clumsy, trying to tuck the end of the band between your wrist and the band without it popping out. You can't add steps and the sleep data now sucks in readability.

This week when I manually add an activity my actual walking steps do not show in the app. Is there a reason for this?
My walk steps do show on my Luxe, just not in the app

can’t add them without deleting previous data. Maybe they fixed that, but
it’s still a crappy sports watch for other reasons.

Hi, @Run71 , when you manually log data, steps automatically detected during the same time period are suppressed, as it assumes your manual log is more accurate than the auto detected steps. This makes perfect sense to me, and there has been no change (and certainly no “fix”). If you delete your manual log the automatically detected steps are restored. I hope this clarifies it for you.

what it recorded and if you then delete these manually added steps, the
Fitbit ones will be restored. This makes no sense so I’m assuming I’m not
understanding you. You’re saying you can’t fix it?

Hi, @Run71 , yes, that is exactly what I am saying! If you manually add steps during a time period when your Fitbit detected steps, the steps detected by your Fitbit will be suppressed (won’t show and won’t count). If you later delete your manual log your Fitbit detected steps will re-appear. For more information on deleting or adding data please see this help article .
