Did you mean:

Insanity, anyone?

Anyone progressing through the Insanity workout right now?  Just finished Week 1, amazing improvements in cardio already!  Fitbit doesn't seem to document the workout correctly for it's intensity, but I let that one go.  I know how much I'm sweating, LOL.

Good luck! I've heard great things about it from friends who do it. Let me know what you think as you work through the milestones - always curious about other programs.

I must admit I hadn't heard anything about Insanity before starting using a Fitbit. I'm based in Europe and Insanity (as well as the company behind it) is more or less unknown on this side of the Atlantic. My understanding is that it is being heavily promoted on TV and advertised as some kind of "get-slim-fast" magical recipe to overweight people. I have no doubt there is a huge market for it in the US. Are American people so gullible as to believe you can transform yourself from obese into superfit in a couple of months? Don't some of them even die from doing this stuff? Just wondering...

Insanity is a high-intensity interval fitness training program designed esp to help those who are already fit to reach the next level.  It's a 2 month regimen consisting of 6 days/week plyometrics and body-weight exercises witha recommended high-protein clean-eating nutrition program.  Not too glitzy, but really demanding.  I wouldn't call it a weight loss program, but you can't really help but lose some fat and build some muscle by the time you complete it due to its intensity.

Well, this is the kind of stuff you see on the Insanity home page:

Insanity

Sure, it's an extremely demanding fitness programme, but it's marketed as a way to transform a beer belly into a six-pack in 60 days.

A few friends of mine, in the UK, are currently using insanity to tone their bodies and increase stamina.  They have lost weight over the last 12 months and this is the final piece of the jigsaw.  The results in the time that they have done it have been great.  One of the girls is using it, following the success of her husband.  None of them have used it as a means of losing weight.

A number of my friends in Germany use Insanity and love it. I did the fit test today and it is most definitely intense!

It also states on the site that people will do the program multiple times to achieve their desired results, but depending on a number of factors dramatic changes are possible after one run through the program.

Let me know if you decide to keep going with it.  I'm 1 week in, 8 to go, and looking for company that loves the misery 🙂  Honestly the clean eating is the toughest part so far.

Doing day 1 this evening (I'm more of a night workout type of person)! My muscles were killing me after the fitness test that I had to recoup and stretch it out for a couple days. How have you found week one to be? The eating looks like it will be pretty intense! Luckily, it's pretty much all stuff that I already eat, but set up in a different format.

Really good to hear you're listening to your body - pace yourself, 'cause it won't help if you don't finish the program!!  I just completed Week 2, and can vouch that the soreness and stiffness wears off by the end of week 1.  I can't say I much look forward to the alarm going off at 6AM then having to hit it hard, but afterwards the high from accomplishment makes it worthwhile at least till the next morning 🙂  I think I'm due to try the fitness test again this w/e, so we'll see how the numbers work out.  Good luck, and hang in there...Week 1 was definitely the hardest so far!

I love Insanity, but confess I haven't been doing the actual program, just a dvd when I feel like it and depending on how long I want to work out, haha. It's a lot of impact though, so since I've hurt my foot recently, I've taken a break. Such a great workout though!

My husband and I did the Insanity routine the few months before our wedding last year. We had been working out previously but that did nothing to prepare us for the pain to come lol. Insanity was HARD and you for sure need to feed your body and rest accordingly because you can easily start buring 1k+ calories a workout - i know we were in the 2nd month because we both used HRM's which i also highly recommend because it can be unsafe if you are pushing too hard.

the only thing i'd suggest is to use this as more of a toning routine or a final push for that last 10-15lbs you want to lose...we didnt really lose much of anything because we were building so much muscle. I did feel a difference in my body though.

Oh.. I did Insanity before -- MAN, it kicked my butt big time.  And yes, I actually pushed myself so hard that I puked....  UGH.

I will do it again .. once I get my LCHF life under control !

Goals: Low Carb, high fat, 70-20-10 .... lose 20 pounds by 6/2017

Love insanity !
Did the regular 2 month insanity for years ! Seen amazing results and love how long the workouts are. Decided to try the second version; Asylum! Love it even more! I'm on day 17 / 30, probably in the best shape in my life. I feel like once I finish up the 30 days I'll repeat and do it again or do month 2 of insanity. Also follow ShaunT on Instagram for extra motivation 😉 he's too good. Anybody else doing Asylum? What's your favourite workout?

I use the Large size band b/c I like the band loose and just the other day I put it on my ankle instead of my wrist and I feel like it counted better than on my wrist.  Maybe something to try.
