Hey, Peeps. Another month means it's time to sign up for another goals challenge. More about that below, but just a note that if you happen to see this for the first time mid-month, jump on on in; there is no need to wait for another challenge to start next month. See what I did there? "jump right in" , "Jumping June ..." 🙂
How It Works
The primary purpose of these monthly challenges is to encourage you to set and hit your daily step goals for the month; though many of us track other things as well, like body weight exercises, sleep, trips to the gym, logging food, etc. This is not a competition to see who can do the most of whatever, instead it is a challenge to measure your consistency. So whether you do 1k, 5k, 10k or even 40k steps a day, this is measuring how many days out of the monthly total you can hit your goal.
Some might have a constant goal of 10k steps every single day and others might have a variable goal throughout the week, (and some might even plan days off!) for example.
Monday -> Friday = 10k steps a day
Sat & Sun = “6k steps a day,” or “not tracking”
Regardless of how you structure your daily goals, the only thing that matters for the monthly challenge is whether or not you reach what you set out to do.
Suggested Posting Format
1) Post either your constant or variable step goal.
2) Keep track of the # of daily goals achieved out of the monthly minimum and or monthly total
Picture Scavenger Hunt — 3 pictures
As you may have guessed from the hint in the subject line of this topic, the theme of the photo scavenger hunt this month is to capture something jumping. Or take a picture while YOU are jumping (pro tip, use a fast shutter speed, LOL).
Posting
Although you certainly don’t have to post daily, you’ll likely stay closer to what you set out to do by updating the thread several times/week
Injury Notice
If you injure yourself during the month and need to scale back due to the injury, then all you have to do is adjust your goal for that period. If you normally do 10k steps a day but pull a hamstring and decide to do minimal walking (2k steps a day), then all you have to do is change your goal.

Couldn't work on goals yesterday (1st) because it was now-or-never on shoveling, carting by bucketsful and spreading the last of my compost. Almost simultaneously had to weed and plant seedlings. But I made up for it today. 😅

@Baltoscott I was walking toward them clicking away on my phone, hoping I'd jag at least one getting airborne. So it was a bonus to get all three of them in various stages of jumping!

Jumping June Goals
8,000 Steps A Day - 22/30 This allows me 2 rest or be sick 2 days a week.
10,000 Steps - 6/30 My real goal is to have this be my daily step goal by July, so I hope to hit way more then 6. But still an increase from last month.
15,000 Steps - 2/30 It's hiking season, so maybe I can do better. I'd love to hit this once a week, but we will see.
Peak Heart Rate +30 - 20/30
Cardio Heart Rate +150 - 20/30
Jumping June Trampoline Time 5+ Minutes - 20-30
Yoga - 10/30 I let this fall short last month, but any day I am too sick or tired to hit 8,000 steps, I should be able to do yoga! I'll feel much better if I do, so I just need to make myself do it!
I might add some other goals this month, but I haven't figured them out yet. It's kayak season, so that is sure to be added in some way just as soon as I figure out how.
The first 2 days of June have been driving and recovery from moving my daughter, so I haven't hit a single goal yet. But I am ready to get back in action today!
This is one the best jumping photos I have from April. Talia loves jumping for her ball, but it is so hard to capture a good shot. Maybe we will practice some jumping up on objects during our hikes!
