Load range still low after resting

A few days ago my cardio load range was 153 to 174 so I worked out hard and wound up exceeding it by 11. The next day my load range was 42 to 62 and I got up to 44. The day after that (yesterday) my load range dropped to 1 to 36 and the meter said I was at risk of overtraining, so I rescheduled my workout and took it easy. I wound up with a load score of just 4. I got a good night's rest (sleep score: 89) and expected that my load range would go back up but it hasn't (1 to 36 again) and the meter shows that I'm even more at risk of overtraining. Any ideas what's going on here? Should I just ignore it? I was planning on playing basketball and doing a strength training class later today.

@Ptricky780 I moved your post to the Get Moving forum, a better fit for your question.  Cardio load and Target load are free and don't require Premium.  I also noticed that you posted the same content in the Charge 6 forum and that @RiekoC gave you a full answer (IMO).

Yeah, I didn't realize it was posting in charge 6. I have a pixel watch 3. That's why I reposted it.

It seems like your body needs more time to recover after your intense workout. The drop in cardio load and overtraining warning suggest you're not fully recovered yet. Even with a good night’s sleep, your muscles may need more time to adapt. Today, focus on light activity like stretching or low-intensity cardio, and skip high-intensity exercises like basketball or strength training. This will help your body heal and rebuild. Keep tracking your recovery, and if the load range doesn’t improve, consider another rest day or active recovery. Balancing intensity and rest is key to progress.

Sounds good! Today it still says I'm overtraining with a cardio load of 1 to 35 but the meter is not showing all the way to the right any more. Maybe one more day of recovery. Thank you

@DrewAnderson Now today the entire cardio load meter went away and it says:

I forgot to wear it sleep a few days back. Maybe that's the cause?

Thanks

Hello @Ptricky780

I moved the thread from the Charge 6 forum to the Android platform forum, which is what we use for Pixel Watch users.

I suspect that you're seeing that Cardio Load message because you forgot to wear your watch at night. You should see the Cardio Load & Target Load recommendations again once the algorithm has the necessary amount of data.
