Looking for new FITBIT friends...

Been using the Fitbit Charge HR now for about 2-3 weeks and LOVE it.  It totally keeps me motivated, helps me track my food intake (& caloric output) and most importantly for me, gives me feedback on my sleep habits.

I am not much into running - as I always tell people "I do not run for fun"...but I love weights, HIIT cardio type activities and just being out and about for walks/days outside.  Nothing against those that run for primary exercise...just not my thing.

I am a former college athlete that is always looking for challenges in my workouts. Would love to have "friends" supporting, pushing, encouraging each other to keep doing better!  Please feel free to add me as a friend and if you have any fitness stories you want to share, it's always welcome.  I love talking fitness with similar people and enjoy motivating.

Best of luck to everyone on their fitness journey.

I have been really excited because I have been hitting my 10,000 step goal several times a week recently. I attend a cardio kickboxing class featured on campus right now and took up climbing the rock wall afterwards. It was a rewarding experience that broke through the stress and self- doubt. I LOVE how exercise and healthy eating can have that effect. 🙂

It's wonderful what foods & exercise can do to be healthy.

First always ate something when food was within range (cookies,..), even if not being hungry or to clean the plate just because parents tell you to when being a kid (instead of trusting the body when having enough even when there's food left on the plate).. or getting food as reward even when not still being hungry not needing nourishment yet..

Now eating mostly nutritient rich foods provided from nature (fruits, vegetables, eggs, some meat,..) as minimal as processed as possible. Trying not to have more if still feeling satisfied.. Smiley Embarassed

When eating, eating until comfortably satisfied (not stuffed) on the 'good' foods.

Have a little treat once a while though.

Have fun Heart

Awesome! I have had my charge HR since June and trying to stay active! I have recently been a little down on the workout bit as I recently moved location and waiting for my student finance before I sign up at the gym here! But I hope to be up and runing next week

I do tend to do some cardio before each gym session as I find it really nice to warm up before I hit those weights!

Having friends and doing the challenges really helps you push that bit extra (like ive taken extra strolls around the block just to beat the person infront of me haha).

Best of luck to you and may the best of us win ;D

That's great...good  luck getting back into it.  I was in a similar boat.  I travel for work all summer & most of the beginning of fall...and I am tied up usually from about 6 am until 8 or 9 pm most nights...so finding time to get in a workout is tough.  I gained 30 lbs this summer just from eating at bad hours, drinking, and not working out.  I hate running and most likely will never enjoy it.  I have to get my cardio from weight training or HIIT.

I usually do a quick warm up on the bike or treadmill prior to working out.  Most cardio before weights is overkill I have learned because you fatigue your body with cardio and then have less to give on the weights. What I started doing was cutting down the time between sets, so my heartrate stays up...or I will jump rope for a 50 count, air squats, crunches, plank...anything to keep the heartrate up before I do another set.   I have lost so much more weight going that route then I ever did just jogging or biking.

Totally do the same thing though...if I am close to the person ahead of me, I will go for a nice walk at night to pick up some extra steps 😉  Good luck to you as well
