Well, April did bring a lot of showers, and a few flowers too. But more flowers are on the way for May. So this month’s photo theme will be at least three different kinds of flowers.
How It Works
The primary purpose of these monthly challenges is to keep track of your daily step goals for the month; though many of us track other things as well, like body weight exercises, sleep, trips to the gym, logging food, etc. This is not a competition to see who can do the most of whatever, instead it is a challenge to measure your consistency. So whether you do 1k, 5k, 10k or even 40k steps a day, this is measuring how many days out of the monthly total you can hit your goal.
Some might have a constant goal of 10k steps every single day and others might have a variable goal throughout the week, (and some might even plan days off!) for example.
Monday -> Friday = 10k steps a day
Sat & Sun = “6k steps a day,” or “not tracking”
Regardless of how you structure your daily goals, the only thing that matters for the monthly challenge is whether or not you reach what you set out to do.
Suggested Posting Format
1) Post either your constant or variable step goal.
2) Keep track of the # of daily goals achieved out of the monthly minimum and or monthly total
Picture Scavenger Hunt — 3 pictures
As noted, the theme of the photo scavenger hunt is to find at least three different kinds of flowers (blooms) on your daily walks. The more colors the better.
Posting
Although you certainly don’t have to post daily, you’ll likely stay closer to what you set out to do by updating the thread several times/week
Injury Notice
If you injure yourself during the month and need to scale back due to the injury, then all you have to do is adjust your goal for that period. If you normally do 10k steps a day but pull a hamstring and decide to do minimal walking (2k steps a day), then all you have to do is change your goal.

Last flower pic. They planted these where I walk two months ago and are just now blooming. They are in front of the wedding reception house so hopefully the rest will bloom

Got sidelined today so no status change since yesterday. May was a busy month, and then I fell ill for @5 days. June should be better!!! Is the new challenge up @Baltoscott?
Picked one of my favorite roses today. 😍

May Flowers Day 31
15K steps/day (May 7 - added 20K daily ave.) | 30/31
1 pushup/day | 31/31 | |
13 weight-lifting days or 20 mile bike days | 13/13
post scavenger pics | 3/3
Sleep 6+ hours 15 days or more during the month | 15/15
1 pull-up/day | 31/31 |
May Flowers are done, though I am still running across a lot of flowers. Pretty good month goalwise. Managed to just make the weight-lifting goal today with a trip this morning and by counting a few 20+ mile bike rides. Knee is still bugging me, so I'll have to nurse it some for Jumping June. Missed one day on my 15K/day goal, but average was 21K so pretty good there too.

Sorry for posting my final May post so late, but I was helping my daughter move the last few days of May and first few days of Jun. I had very little computer time to enter goals, but I had tons of walking and exercise time!
Goal Day 31 -
7650 Steps - 21/22 So Close!
10,000 Steps - 6/5
15,000 Steps - 1/1
Active 6+ Hours a Day - 26/22
Sleep 7+ Hours a Day - 20/22
Peak Heart Rate 15+ Minutes a Day - 19/20
Cardio Rate 100+ Minutes a Day - 29/22
Yoga Stretching - 5/10
Allergy Meds - 23/23 I stopped taking this intentionally on the 23rd and was doing great without it until I went 5 hours south to my daughters house. That made my allergies flare again!
Lifetime Miles - 94/101 Again so CLOSE!
My favorite flower, my granddaughter!

As I understand it, allergies depend on the type of blood, or rather, on your body's response to irritants. My daughter was allergic to indoor flowers. We transplanted them but didn't take root. I had to express something else, and we agreed on taking iris or dried flowers from it so that they would not emit pheromones and odors. One- or three-year-old links with good roots and leaf fans are best suited for planting. There are two ways to divide the rhizome: the first is best to break it with your hands, the second is to cut it with a knife, but after each operation it is necessary to disinfect the knife in a solution of potassium permanganate.
