I just got the fitbit inspire 2 and I find myself being more active. I'm getting more steps in and finding myself walking alot more to get my goals. Has any one else seen this when getting a fitbit?

Hi @NGrossi
Welcome to the forum. Thank you for posting such a positive comment and congratulation on your increased activity. I felt this way when I got my first Fitbit and now find new motivation from participating in challenges with friends. Best of luck on your journey to healthier lifestyle.

Have the same experience. Last August, I started walking for at least an hour a day. But since I got my FitBit the last week of December, I hit twice and some days three times of my daily 12k step goal. So far this year, I've got
... and have never been so excited about walking and tracking it.

Hi @NGrossi - I absolutely found myself being more active when I got my first Fitbit — almost 10 years ago! At first I was just curious as to how active I was throughout the day on Fitbit’s most basic metric - steps. I was around 15K/day. That motivated me to find ways to up the steps and move more throughout the day and soon I was averaging around 20-25K/day. I did become a little too challenge obsessed for a while and had to remind myself that fitness isn’t just walking/running — still, daily steps are a great metric for reminding me that movement and basic fitness is an all-day endeavor and Fitbit seems to have had a permanent impact on my daily habits as I still average about 19K/day.

Hey there and welcome to the forums! I think most folks experience this since your fitbit is tracking what you are doing and what you are not doing in black and white. It is telling the story of your day, which for most folks is a push to have a better story told. Enjoy your new buddy and see you around the forums!
