ROLLER DERBY!...... Surge!

Hi there everybody!

Are there any roller derby girls or guys out there?

I've been thinking of getting the Surge, as my fitbit one dosen't seem to track me at all when I'm on skates.

Has anyone got the the Surge, is there an option for tracking roller skating, or better yet roller derby!? If so have you found it accurate?

Also I'd love so rollerderby fitbit buddies to compete against and for genreral wheeley shoe advice.

I've been oh so very slack on my fitness, diet and training recently following a stressful 6 months -promotion, moved house, been sick, Christmas and renovations etc- but I was lapped by fresh meat on the track the other day, and I'm now dropping further from the 27/5 I need to complete my min skills rather than getting closer too it. Time to pull my finger out and find some motivation!!

No such option on the Surge. You could pretend it's running, and the Surge would calculate the distance according to GPS, but that doesn't change the fact roller skating is not a typical step-based activity and that the Surge is still basically a pedometer (ie. a device designed to count steps), albeit a very fancy one.

Would the GPS accurately track laps of a track in a sports hall?

Probably not, because GPS tends not to work well indoors. As the manual states (p. 15/49):

As with any GPS device, a signal is likely to be discovered more quickly if you are outside in an open area and standing still
