Standing, but Not Moving?

I am a mechanic and welder, so I'm on my feet all day. However, being on my feet doesn't always mean I'm moving around. So there are days when I've only gotten 4000 steps in by the end of my workday, but my feet are too sore to want to try to get in the full 10,000 before bed. Does anyone else have this problem? How do you deal with it?

Foot rubs. Even if you have to give them to yourself. Then wait a few hours after work to get your steps in. OR be one of those insane people who wake up early to work out. That's asking a lot though if you're like me.

make sure your shoes are good for standing in all day and if you have regulation footwear you may want to invest in an insole to cushion your feet...

Like others have said before, try getting an insole to cushion your feet, and if you want to move more, then make reasons to walk some more. Put some tools a little farther away if possible, so you have to walk to get them. Little things like that can help raise your daily steps.
