I thought it would be fun to share ways in which we survive gaining too many extra pounds during the holidays.
For me, I grab the smallest plate I can at holiday parties and only fill my plate with very small "samplings" of each food. And yes, I'll be the one digging into that veggie platter!
What are some tips and tricks you use to keep you on track?

I always use 10" plates.
Eat more veggies and smaller amounts of other things.

i bought 2 small veggie trays - one for Christmas Eve appetizers (our traditional dinner) and one for Christmas to snack on prior to dinner. also planned runs with the dogs both days so I can indulge in my favorites on both days (glass of wine - sausage and cheese Christmas Eve, lasagne and wine Christmas Day). don't have a sweet tooth, but the savory is a big issue! I also prepare the meals, so I am planning to cut and weigh all the cheese/sausage so I know exactly what I'm eating

Best AnswerMy family went to Disney World for the holidays. While I definitely ate more than I usually do, I was also walking way more than I usually do too (I think I tallied up over 50 miles of walking over the course of the week). Now that I'm back home, I'm keeping a closer eye on my intake and activity levels so I can get back on track after a week of not really paying attention. I still have my New Year's traditions (ham and biscuits, black eyed peas, and mustard greens) but as long as I pay attention and track everything, I should be ok!
