Just got my fitbit versa 2. Sort of disappointed that it doesn't have GPS. That, in itself, would be okay, I have a phone. But apparently, using fitbit with a phone uses up the battery something terrible! Anybody have any advice on how they use fitbit for jogging?

Hey @pvisw — just use it as directed. Start your runs or walks from your Versa, make sure it connects to phone, and then finish the exercise when you are done. Afterwards you can check your stats and route when you select that exercise in your exercise log.
I wouldn’t worry about battery drain. My normal daily use on a Versa with maybe a 30-60 minute tracked walk and notifications on seems to use around 1/4 to 1/3 of a full charge. Putting it on the charger 10-15 minutes in the evening before bed seems to be plenty to make sure I get through the next day. If I am traveling and away from the charger is seems good for 3 or 4 days while using connected GPS daily for 30-60 minutes.

Hello @pvisw and @Baltoscott! Thanks for posting.
In this case, in order to have a GPS map for your runs, you will have to take your smartphone with you. Here you have an article about it. How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?
As @Baltoscott said, I would not worry about battery life. When I have around 3 runs with GPS a week, it usually lasts the 5 days. In this case, please make sure you do not have the "Always On Display" feature activated. This will reduce battery life to 2 days, given that the display remains on.
Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Happy stepping!
