Weekend Sins (FitBit Fail)

After a great Workweek Hustle (80,000 steps!) and a fabulous early morning five mile Friday run...things went downhill.

First, the rains came. Biblical proportions, y'all. It came from every direction and never stopped. Then, the wind and lightning and thunder. (My three-year-old said, "The clouds have bad tummy aches!") And finally, the tornado watches and warnings started. On and off for three.long.days. we lived in a swirling Southern storm vortex.

So I quit. I parked my butt on the couch and hung out with Netflix. I made homemade bread, pumpkin cream cheese bars, and I drank a soda. (I don't drink soda! Ever!?)

So that is my confession. I hardly hit 5k each day.

I need a workweek boost to regain my steppin' confidence after that weekend of gluttony!

Sooo, @coymichelle

This is why you shouldn't feel bad.

You don't understand the euphoria I felt at the sight of all of this food my sister cooked for Mother's Day.

I did the same thing at first on Sunday, and I mean I WENT ALL IN but my goals won't let me quit. I have this nagging feeling that I'll undo all my precious hard work. So I pig out occasionally (like this weekend)...but then at some point I put in serious WORK because I can't afford to quit and NEITHER CAN YOU! Just make it up this week - you took some calories in, now go take some calories out!

ROTF of my office right now. (Also drooling!)

Thanks for the pick me up @Giftie!

It can be such a slippery slope for me. One milkshake can lead to a week of shakes in no time. I'm one of those all-or-nothing eaters.

No doubt, it is time to do work this week!

(Also, why won't my FitBit app photo show up on my online profile?)

@coymichelle  One day or a weekend doesn't define us. You're back on track and you'll be just fine.

@Giftie  Looks like some really delicious food you shared this weekend. You'll run it off in no time.

It really is acceptable to treat ourselves now and again. If we didn't, we'd be more wild around those tempting things.

Have a wonderful and stepfilled week!

We all have our bad days, what's important is that you get fewer of those in time, and start getting good days everyday.

That food looks yummy TBH.

Don't think of a this as a failure at all, think of it as a treat for your body.

A lifestyle of healthy eating and excercise is brilliant, but there is always a place for some junk food and rest too. Speaking as an amateur bodybuilder, I'd chalk this one up as a cheat day, hit the good foods and carry on with the excercise.

Interestingly, a cheat day can be just the thing to kickstart your metabolism and help you keep moving down that road towards weight loss.

I've had a bad week as well. Thanks for the motivation and realization that we all slip up.
