I have had my fit bit for a few days now and I do love it.
I used to wear another pedometer at work so I already knew that the aim of 10,000 steps a day is very difficult to achieve. I work that 9-5 job where unfortunately 90% of my day involves sitting at a desk. Seeing other people and friends on fitbit constantly achieve 10,000 steps is a little demotivating.
I know I shouldn't compare since we all lead such different lives. I do exercise thought, I actively work though the 21 day fix and T25 program from beachbody. It still doesn't really get steps up as dramatically as I would like.
Anyone else in the same boat? How do you work with this?

@Adelina-P I am in the same boat. I work 8-5 5 days a week. I'm trying to go from 146 to 135. I am 5'5 and running a 5k in May. Just started to ACTUALLY work-out, workout again since October consistently again on Monday.
Any tips for my fitbit charge and how to get the most out of it? Anyone?? Thanks

I'm in the same boat. I love my job but sitting at a desk for 8 hours per day has led to me putting 25 extra pounds over the past year. I go to the gym before work and I've started going for walks during my 30 minute lunch breaks. It's rough because I live in FL and it's HOTT and I get all sweaty but I don't care. It's better than getting fatter! If I don't get 10,000 steps each day that's fine with me. The fitbit is helping me track calories and that makes up the difference! Good luck!!

I work the typical 9-5ish job as well. I've had my fitbit since December and here are some things I do to counter the inactivity of the typical office worker..
-- Park my car far away from the office building
-- Take stairs. I never take the elevator
-- If possible, talk to co-workers face to face instead of emailing
-- Stand up and stretch once per hour
-- If I feel tired at my desk, I go for a nice 10-15 minute walk. It wakes me up
The most important thing is to make a habit of doing these things. Make it a normal part of your day because consistancy makes your co-workers question your habits a lot less.
