Did you mean:

You got this!!

I was running around 3-6 miles / day for the past week or so.

Yesterday, however, during my run, I really felt that I was not going as far as I could.

At around mile 3-4, the idea came to me to go for 13 miles.

There was some doubt, but then something inside said "say you can and will do it".

So that's what I did! I said I will keep going until my watch says 13.1 miles / half Marathon.

The last 2 miles were tough, my ankle hurt, but I did it and it felt great.

Well, Today I ran another 13.1 / half marathon!!

AND, I am in LESS pain / fatigue then last night! Which is honestly just weird and logically doesn't make sense..

I don't expect to continue going at this growth / rate, and obviously recovery is so important for running long distances / stretching / ice baths, etc...

But man, if you would've told me 2 days ago that I was going to run 2 half marathons these next 2 days, I would have said possible but not probable. And yet here I am, resting for my 3rd attempt tomorrow....

I'm not exactly sure why I am posting this, but maybe it will trigger somthing in one or some of you to realize that you are capable of SO MUCH MORE than what you might THINK. Literally, just maintain a steady speed and keep going, you'll be amazed at how good and how far you will go.

Like I said, I don't know what to expect tomorrow, but I am certainly expecting a nice ice bath and lots of stretching to recover after.  I know I can do it tomorrow, and I will.

Note - please use your own best judgement and definitely stop if you are in too much pain / close to injury. But this is a reminder to not allow slight discomfort, or even medium discomfort, to stop you. Your body can handle remarkable things when you push it with the right intentions. As mentioned, know your "injury" limit. But other than that, keep going. You got this.

Hi @KeepGoing93. A warm welcome to the forums.

Thank you for taking the time to share this experience regarding your latest workouts.

Reading your story, I realize that even though sometimes your mind tells you that it is better not to try, if you try, your body can tell you afterwards: you did it.

Also, I agree with you about knowing your body and capabilities better, especially when it comes to exercising, to avoid injuries.

Thank you once again for writing your experience. It motivates me to start running again... since I haven't done it for several days.
