Your most motivational inspiration to get moving..

What has been your most motivating inspiration to get you training and eating at your best?

Over the last 8 years I've trained for weight loss, for strength gain and for the mental health benefits. Previously I never really felt like I was kicking goals. I'd reach a weight and just say 'now I've reached my goal weight I could lose a few more' or I'd reach a lifting goal and just up the weight again. Rarely feeling a sense of satisfaction because I always felt like I could be doing better.

I've finally managed to find that satisfaction! I tore my right ACL and severely tore the meniscus in January 2017. The actual tear didn't set me back too much. I was still running and cycling and skiing.

I had a knee reconstruction in November 2017 and since then I don't think I've ever been more motivated. This time with my goal being to become fully functional again and not have to think about guarding the joint. Every time I squat a little heavier or run a little further it's just the biggest victory. And on top of that I'm at the lowest weight I've been since I was 19! Nothing has made me want to train harder, and being able to do it is what's pushing me to keep working harder.

Hi @CallyT and welcome to the community. You have had quite the fitness journey. Just be sure to treat yourself right and take care of your aches pains and gains. For me its about feeling good about myself - that keeps me dedicated to being the person I am now and not the overweight unhealthy one I was 4 years ago. Thanks for sharing your story- see you around the community!
