Cardio is a great way, but strength training is also an excellent way to burn calories. I used to do 30 minutes on the treadmill but after getting bored of my workouts I switched to doing Jillian Michael DVDs (circuit training) and noticed the pounds were coming off quicker.

Burning fat is all about eating.

Eating less calories than your body uses is the only way to shed pounds.  You can either just eat less and/or food with less calories per serving, or increase the number of calories your body uses by exercising.  The former is hard, the latter even harder.  Walking for an hour only burns about 400 calories -- less than the calories in a bagel with cream cheese!  Its easier, and certainly less time consuming to not to eat the bagel in the first place.

There is no substitute for a good diet, but cardio will burn fat quicker. However, weight training will build muscle (while burning some fat) and keep buring more fat because more muscle burns more fat at rest.

By eating less calories than my total calorie expenditure. Doesn't matter what exercise you do when it comes to losing fat. What matters most is that you're eating less than your TDEE. Although I can tell you if you don't do full body strength training you'll lose muscle/tissue along with fat and have a higher fat vs. muscle ratio at your goal weight, adequate protein is also important for preventing muscle loss while losing weight.

I might exercise an hour more than someone with the same BMR than me but eat more than them and we'd lose weight at the same rate. I try to keep exercise and weight loss seperate. Exercise is for fitness. How many calories I eat vs. my TDEE is how I lost weight.

*squats then shoulders press... dont need to be heavy... ( technique is the key)

*rowing for a minute then do push ups till ya fail.. (remember its bout techinque)

*yoga and pilates is great for ya whole being..

its great to get advise from every1.. thats how ya learn... i ask so many stupid questions to the massive guys in the gym... but just remember to get ya technique spot on before lifting heavy...

The more muscle you have the more fat you'll burn, start doing some weight training. As far as cardio goes HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) will burn the most fat. You'll get great results with a combination of the two.  There are some great programs that take the guess work out. And as others have already stated DIET/Nutrition.  Not all calories are created equally.  What you eat is more important than how many calories you eat.
