Question:
When I just walk my stride is fairly normal as reported on my Fitbit.
When I power walk, walk fast my stride is longer.
Im not seeing that there is a difference noted by the fitbit.
When I go into settings I see my regular stride then a running stride which yes is longer.
But despite increase in speed fitbit goes to walking stride?

You are correct, @Maltie, any time you are walking, whether leasurely walking or power walking, the Fitbit only has you "walk" stride length to use for calculating your distance. If you are running, and it detects running as opposed to walking, it will use your "running" stride length. The best you can do for walking is enter an "average walk distance". I measured my walking stride length at several speeds from 3 mph too 3.7 mph, and then took the average of all of them and used it for my entered Walk stride length. When I go for a walk, I never walk at a constant speed - I am walking faster when I start, and slower when I hit a hill, and a little faster when I am going down a hill, slower when I get tired near the end of the walk, etc. - so the "average" works for me.
